Just need some more uptodate advice…my wedding is in june and Iv been looking at some of the bigger name makeup artists ie dil matharu…jawaad ashraf…sahira hussain etc and was wondering are there any others who maybe anyone here has experienced?
I realllyy love dil’s make at the moment and as I cant have a trial yet till feb/march am quite worried as to how quickly he gets booked???
Does anyone know of other good makeup artists also that do more pakistani/dramatic makeup. Not really after the natural/light make up look as my engagement was quite dramatic so obviously need to look more wow lol
I got married a few months ago and used Dil Matharu for my Baraat day - in my opinion he did an amazing job. He did exactly what I asked for, just make sure you know what you want and you stick to your guns or MUAs just do whatever they want or go OTT. The thing with him is that he is really good with eye makeup and really made my eyes look stunning.. I kept the rest pretty light as my outfit was heavy. I would advise you to book 2-3 trials with potential MUAs, they try and scare you and say they get booked really fast but that's not always true, so don't feel pressured into booking anyone until you're sure. Also make sure you take your wedding outfit (or just dupata) for colour match when you go for the trial and the jewellery set you'll be wearing. Also maybe a couple of photos from the Internet/magazines with makeup you like so they know what you're looking for. Dil is nice and chill and not too talkative, which is good, I was so relaxed getting my makeup done on the wedding day, you don't want someone that's doing your head in when you've already got lots to think about :)
Ive heard Jawad Ashraf is good, but had no personal experience with him. Also maybe look into Ambreen? Saw her makeup at a Bridal show - looked pretty good too.

Azbah Ali is really good she manages the lubna rafiq academy, shes from birmingham but is bassd in london alot! I had her for my nikaah and have booked her for all my events! Check her out!
agree with lastingtwilight about the makeup artists saying that they will get booked. However sometimes they will get booked pretty fast (as is evident from the following post) and if they are famous:
I think once you make a choice and if you are satisfied you should move very quickly, especially in the case of venues, makeup artists and photographers etc.
Thank you all for your advice. At the moment my heart is definately set on dil but im a full time university student so you can imagine this is worst time asi have exams and skin goes crazy lol. Plus still havent had time to get my lengha :-s
Hopefully sooon as I've got my lengha I will definately get booking on these trials.
Also did any of the muas suggest any good touch up powders to use if you get shiny. My engagement makeup was awesome but i got shiny alot in my tzone and my lipstick was off after i had eaten :-s Definately dont want that happening on wedding day lol

Hi,
My friend had a similar problem and her makeup artist (Iram) recommended buying the MAC blot powder to touch up with during the day, it kept the shine away really well.
Lipstick I would go for the long wearing ones e.g. MAC Prolongwear, they do last longer but you will still need to touch up after eating.
Try Rosey if you are looking for a typical Pakistani look she is really good shes i think trained by Newlook in pakistan well known salon in whole of Pakistan and don't forget to use her for your Mehndi decoration with real Swarovski crystals which she will order according to your outfit colours, I was amazed when I heard if this because I never heard of this work before she the only one does it. Highly recommended, she must have done over 15 weddings in my family and friends.

I usually use an oil control product in the oily t-zone areas underneath the foundation. For the lipstick, I cut off some lipstick used on the day and give it in a pot with a lip brush to my brides to enable them to touch up on the day.
