I think every job is demanding in its own respect. If my to-be husband said to me that my job is easy peasy and not demanding, I will break his nose!
Cooking and chores are not big deal. You two just have to sit talk about it. Talk about the expectations both ppl have from each other and come to some sort of common agreement like instead of expecting homemade rotis, you guys can live happily on pitta or tortillas, etc. Always have some sort of salad, sandwich spread, shreaded chicken so he can fix some quick sandwiches for the two of you or just for himself. If he does not know how to fry an egg or make an omelette, then TEACH him.
Anyway, I know alot of guys who can cook, if not from fresh ingredient then for sure from canned ingredients.
I guess many times couples for get that they can run the errands togather, cook a delicious simple meal and have a good couple time at the same time.
Oh and I work and plan on working after getting married too.
