Make-up women love but MEN HATE :D

Taken from yahoo:

1. Heavy foundation and powders: “The inch-thick powder is a huge turn-off,” says Maxim senior editor Nick Leftley. “No guy wants to kiss a girl on the cheek and then find he¹s wearing foundation himself.” A flaking face is one thing, but when your cheek becomes a palette of skin-tone colors, men pay attention…and not the good attention. “I’m always amazed to see women with two-tone faces, two apparently different shades of skin on the face, as if they apply makeup in the dark,” says James Oliver Cury, the online editorial director at Maxim. “I’d rather see one greasy face than some sort of melanin imbalance. The nose should match the cheeks.”

2. “Bumps”: “I never liked, or knew of any other guy who liked, the Gwen Stefani “bumpit” look," says Henry Belanger, an editor at The Good Men Project. “Be wary of anything that makes your head look unnaturally large.”

3. Neon lipstick: Most of the fashion world agreed that electric pouts were a beauty “do” this season. Some men, however, beg to differ. "Orange lips are definitely a departure from what we’re used to and not necessarily something a lot of guys I know really respond to just quite yet,” say fashion blogger John Januzzi of Lucky and the fashion website, Textbook.

4. Too-thin brows:“My pet peeve is overly plucked eyebrows,” says David Swanson, Maxim’s Features Editor.“I mean, really? It’s basically an advertisement that naturally you’re hairier than Robin Williams. If it looks natural, we’d never have to wonder.”

**5. Bold eye-shadow: **“I don’t understand the revival of bright blue eyeshadow,” proposes Maxim’s Cury. “Is it retro? Is it purposefully over-the-top? To my eyes, it just looks tacky no matter how you wear it.” Lucky’s Januzzi isn’t as bothered by color as he is by application. “Smoky eyes–when done right are great–very sexy and attractive but when done wrong they look a total mess,” he says. “Seek professional guidance before trying at home.”

6. Rosy cheeks: “As far as make-up goes, I think rouge is for old ladies,” adds Good Men Project’s Belanger. “I think guys generally prefer the kind of make-up you don’t notice is there, and since there’s a lot that guys don’t notice I think women have a lot of leeway.”

**7. Two-toned lips:**Remember Kim Mathers? She was almost as famous for her lip liner issues as she was for being defamed by Eminem. According to our dude survey, the pucker problem was more serious. “When I see thin lines drawn around a pair of lips, I think: Is this part of some gang initiation rite?” says Cury.

8. Glitter:“Women need to be judicious with it,” says Cury. “It¹s like any good seasoning. You shouldn’t shake it all over. It can overwhelm the main course.” That being said, he’s not opposed to a heavy sprinkle of cleavage glitter. Figures.

Re: Make-up women love but MEN HATE :D

glitter is for strippers, i have heard guys complain about vivid eyeshadow looks and men do love big hair bc it reminds them of the bond girls they grew up watching. thin eyebrows and heavy lip liner with pale lipstick is just chula/ghetto trashy makeup tips to begin with (think ghetto mexican girls from the movie Dangerous Minds. sometimes bollywood did that horrid lip trend and would drive me nuts, they would also line the girls lips to be bigger than what it really is which was semi clown like. old hollywood at one time liked to have bigger forehead and thinner round brows it was a big trend with dramatic dark lips i'm glad that trend didn't last long.

at the same time guys don't get that women play with makeup and colors and such to change things up.

Re: Make-up women love but MEN HATE :D

oh how much I hate these kind of articles that pressure women and young girls to dress a certain way to please the opposite sex. If you like it then like it, if not then piss off!

and bruv Glitter ain't for strippers. If that's your thinking then what would you call the girls who dress up for men?

Re: Make-up women love but MEN HATE

They had posted some funny pics along with this article

Re: Make-up women love but MEN HATE

Okay I don’t like the overly large “bumps” put a small poof is fine :snooty:

Re: Make-up women love but MEN HATE :D

Yeh yahoo pe kon banata hai time zaya kar ke :(

Re: Make-up women love but MEN HATE :D

I can agree with heavy foundation and bold eye shadows.....!

Re: Make-up women love but MEN HATE :D

Oh whatever! the only thing I agree with is the flaking foundation which one should be careful of. Other than that, bold eyeshadow, bright lipstick, glitter, blush can all be done and look hot!

Re: Make-up women love but MEN HATE :D

I just know one thing and that is when a guy goes crazy for a girl he ignores anything and everything i.e. clown makeup, hideous dressing sense etc...and speaking about desi guys...I don't think that they know that much about fashion/makeup etc...and you see half of the girls are caked up on weddings and guys dig it.

Re: Make-up women love but MEN HATE :D

I agree with Colorful Eyes. Who cares if the guys like it or not. I wear makeup because I want to. And I wear what I enjoy. Whether my husband likes it or not doesn't even factor into it. Girls should definitely not give a hoot who likes what and look however they want; no make up, loaded with makeup, multicolor - whatever floats their boat.

Re: Make-up women love but MEN HATE :D

ladies if your man comes home and he's got a little glitter on him chances are it's from a strip club (this is a common thing joked about). Anyhow jokes aside glitter is something that can go so wrong. how many times have you seen paindu people put it in their hairstyles and so forth? every yr around xmas they try to make glitter lotions a great accessory put some on your chest to bring out your collar bones and what not but in reality no one wants glitter in their car, nor do i want to walk away glittery because I hugged someone that is overdoing it. rarely do women just do a light glitter on the eyes. i hate glitter hairspray that comes out around halloween too. in general most women i've come across playing with glitter didn't do it well and their glitter got around where as when you use it on the eyes you have a base to kinda hold the glitter in place so that it's not getting on your friends and most importantly their car or outfits.

btw the article did have funny pics it was on yahoo.com's main headline these past few days.

also most guys don't understand why girls wear unnatural colors on their eyes like purples, blues, greens etc. they prefer natural or earthy tones or so i've heard. does that chance how i do my makeup? not really bc i enjoy playing with colors. some girls like shoes i like makeup. :)

Re: Make-up women love but MEN HATE

We can wear whatever we want too :snooty: I agree with the overly done foundation though!

Re: Make-up women love but MEN HATE :D

some makeup just looks awful (the dark lipliner with light lipstick look) but yeah.....i hate these womens magazines where every.single.thing is about how to get a man, please him, dump him, find a rebound, and start the cycle all over again

Re: Make-up women love but MEN HATE :D

So your life doesn't revolve around us?

Re: Make-up women love but MEN HATE :D

Re: Make-up women love but MEN HATE :D

bright red lipstick
"the done" look
too much foundation
thick liquid eyeliner
heavy blusher

Re: Make-up women love but MEN HATE :D

I like this thread. I think we need more feedback from the men, so I'm gonna bump it :D

Re: Make-up women love but MEN HATE :D

I don't use any of this mentioned stuff or styles.

Re: Make-up women love but MEN HATE

I remember reading another one of those articles. Here it is.

**Ditch the Dungarees, Jumpsuits and Harem Pants
**

Generally men don’t like baggy shapeless clothes. We like women to have a figure of some sort. To go in at the waist, have hips and a butt or bum and also breasts**. (Yes, it make surprise you to know that men like breasts).
Dungarees and Jumpsuits are therefore the first items to go in the
Recycling Bin of Taste**. While we are at it, those dreadful Harem Pants can go too. Do tear them up before they go in the bin so no one else can wear them!
Men, when not staring at breasts, also like ladies legs. They don’t have to be perfect legs. We like tights but we like stockings even more.
Particularly if they are supported by a garter belt, suspender belt or suspenders attached to some other garment such as a corset.
Conversely, Men are not keen on Leggings. A baggy tee shirt with leggings is particularly off putting. Jeggings, an evil cross between jeans and leggings, are even worse!

**Knee Socks, Gladiator Sandals and Ugg Boots - Ugg!
**

Moving down the female leg,Gladiator Sandals are unwelcome as are the aptly named Ugg Boots(where do you think the name came from?).
Some of those Uggs look like the wearer trod on an unfortunate pair of small mammals and then left the corpses on their feet.
Although we do love grown up stockings, we find female socks off putting. Particularly Over the Knee Socks.
There is something not quite right about it. It’s a bit like grown up women wearing school uniform. OK in the bedroom but not in public.
Men generally don’t like women to wear Too Much Make Up (a particular sin of some women in the USA). Also, men don’t tend to like really bright colours. Neon colours and girlie pink are particularly unpopular with males. However, men tend to be attracted to girls wearing bright Red,

**Tassels, Tattooed Ladies and Tuxedos
**

Most men, not all, are really put off by all but the smallest girl Tattoos. Men who don’t wear tattoos and men that do are united in their concern that so many women now have great tapestries of black and multicoloured inks on backs, butts and breasts.
What about jackets? Well we don’t much like women in Tuxedos.Fringes on clothes generally are a no no. While your at it, ditch the handbag with a hundred Tasselsdragging on the ground.
Another massive turn off is the jacket that gives you the Furry Look like an inhabitant of Second Life. If you’re not sure what I mean, go to Second Life (it’s a virtual world so don’t expect a Sat Nav reference).
Fly around or teleport until you find someone, ie an Avatar, and 10 to 1 they will be wearing a hideous furry costume. That’s because in the real world furry people are not welcomed so most of them have relocated to virtual space.
Don’t get me started on Furry Boots. They look particularly unpleasent on catwalk models with ultra thin legs. See below for a typical example from Channel.

Keep it Simple, Shapely and Feminine

What else? **Really Big Sunglasses.**Men are simple souls and are really attracted to a girl who smiles a lot and have lovely eyes. Big sun glasses conceal the smile and the eyes.
Guys are also generally more conservative (with a small ‘c’) that their female sisters. We don’t like too many accessories and other adornments. We like simple plain fabrics that don’t detract from the inner and outer beauty of the female wearer.
Lets finish on a positive note. Ladies Belts (not too fancy) are much appreciated by guys if only because they accentuate the wearers figure. Generally keep your look Simple, Shapely and Feminine

Here’s hoping that if you’re a woman and have read this far, nothing here has offended you.
If it has then share your rage via a comment below. Men, if you adore your girlfriend’s harem pants or her cute dungarees and the love of your life is a tattooed lady, then tell us what you think.
If I’ve missed anything else that women wear and you hate then just let me know!
