make up torturing eyes

ok so ive been wearing eyeliners n stuff on my eyes for years, this sort of thing has never happened before, for the past 2 months or so everytime i apply a shadow or kohl on the lower or upper waterline , i develop serious redness, i mean i literally look scary. dr has given me an antibiotic eye drop, but nothing seems to work.
my make isnt expired, or used /touched by any other person. and its all of good quality.
do any of u ladies develop this thing when u apply make up on lower/upper lash line?? what do u quit using make up altogether?
oh ya i do wear corrective contacts, but they arnt expired or infected either, also when i wear em alone nothing happens, only when i apply make up on water lines this thing happens in abt half an hr, n it keeps getting worse until i remove my make up.

Re: make up torturing eyes

The shadow or kohl might have some ingredient in them that causes the irritation. I'd suggest you stop using them and give your eyes some rest. Try to find out what exactly is in the products that irritates your eyes and from there on you can find a more suitable product.

Re: make up torturing eyes

did all that chilly, may be the eyes hav become over sensitive to chemicals.

Re: make up torturing eyes

cud it be due to removing eye make with face make up cleanser? ive been moving around lately n hav been v lazy to carry the eye make up remover.
is normal face cleanser milk bad for the eyes?

Re: make up torturing eyes

That could be it. Your eyes are the most sensitive part of your face, so make sure you use only products that are meant for the eyes. The cleansing milk might have been too harsh.

Re: make up torturing eyes

try clinique products.

Re: make up torturing eyes

Have you checked that your makeup is contact-friendly??

Re: make up torturing eyes

HHuuummmmmmmmm. ok.
but al kohls n n eye shadows ,even pigmented ones r suppose to be contact friendly. right?

Re: make up torturing eyes

im in a lotta pain here, cant even wear my contacts wht to talk of products :(((

Avoid using your face cleanser on your eyes, especially if it is oil based.

Use oil-free and fragrance-free eye makeup (you'll have to check with the individual cosmetic brands but some actually say they are contact friendly).

Wear contact lenses before applying makeup.

Remove the contact lenses before removing your makeup.

Nb: I don't think all kohl and eyeshadows are contact friendly!

Re: make up torturing eyes

got same problem myself. i dont think theres anything wrong with ur makeup though cuz i've noticed redness and irritation even with brand new products. i actually go through the onion tears everytime i take off my eye makeup its with almost every brand except for few like revlon and clinique etc cuz they r safe for sensitive eyes. if ur eyes r sensitive theres nothing u can do about it. and for the redness i use the eye drops for redness jst put few drops in ur eyes b4 u put ur makeup on it really helps to control the redness.

Re: make up torturing eyes

oh one more thing try to sharpen ur eye liner pencils b4 each use so u have clean tip everytime.
