Make up on fair skin

what colours would you use for fair skin??

every time i wear make up i look too dolled up, just want a bit of a natural look, also for party and wedding make up, im a bit fed up using the same neutral colours, how can i wear make up with colour without looking like a geisha girl??

Re: Make up on fair skin

Why restrict yourself with colours go crazy :p No seriously the best thing to do is to go to a makeup counter and let them experiment different colours on you. Go out and take a look at yourself in the daylight to see if you like the makeup or not. We could advice you on various colours but we haven't actually seen you to suggest a colour. Hence, why not stick to my suggestion?

U can try neutral earthy tones..different shades of brick, browns and nudes

Re: Make up on fair skin

i feel the same. i think it's more to do with my own perception of myself rather than actually being too 'dolled up' as compared to others (e.g. for a wedding). i really don't like myself in strong lipsticks so i keep my lipstick and blush fairly muted; peachy pinks, that kinda of thing.

i concentrate on my eyes. mixing colours with more neutral shades. or i'll inject some colour into my eyeliner. i still do my black liner but will mix colour into it somehow and have learnt how to make it work in the best way. for example, blue eyeshadows don't look so good to me but i can use some MAC liquid last in blue horizon and it makes my eyes 'pop' as well as looking colourful.

you just need to play around :)

I only use the colours that you have quoted, but i really want to use darker shades, both on eyes or lips, just never have the guts to go with it, if fact the few times i have dared tried loud colours i end up looking like a clown:clown:

Try a few darker colors then.. like a deep green eye-pencil, an indigo liner.

Re: Make up on fair skin

I would also try pastel colors on yours - like lighter blues/lavenders/ or silver/bronze/gold on your eyes and baby pink/light mauve on your lips

Re: Make up on fair skin

I'm very fair skinned too. I don't wear any foundation, as most shades that are my skin tone are for very lightly tanned skin and they just make me look like a ghost! What I tend to do for special occasions is conceal any imperfections, wear light eye shadow (my fave colours are peach/pink/gold etc and they all have light shimmer to them) and emphasis the eyes with eye liner and lashings of mascara. I tend to keep my lips nude and pop a gloss over them
