Make-Up of Dead bodies

:salam2:

Isn’t strange and odd things that some peoples lives on those earnings which earned by doing make-up of deceased peoples. Moreover its taken a shape of business with different prices i.e. depend on the types of make-up (stuff). Any info about it? plz share.

re: Make-Up of Dead bodies

Is it also the norm in Pakistan. Never heard that.

re: Make-Up of Dead bodies

In Pakistan :emmy: what? make-up?

re: Make-Up of Dead bodies

Yes I never heard that they do make up of dead ones in Pakistan, Bus nehlaya dhulaya, kafan pehnaya aur dafna dia..One of our young cousin (25 years old who was going to marry in aweek or so) died in an accident. His mother was crying so much and asked that she wanted to see him in Sehra, but elders of the family didn't allow that.

re: Make-Up of Dead bodies

Exactly, no make up of any other stuff. But in some western countries the cremation cost starts from $800 to more than $4000. That includes make-up, dressing up, koffen etc., etc.

Yani zindagi ho ya maut.. paisa chahiye hota hai.

re: Make-Up of Dead bodies

Like I said it is very profilable business in west. In other way like we spend money of marriage ceremony to make it a memorizable ceremony, similar to that the spend different amount to make it rememberable.

re: Make-Up of Dead bodies

Now this reminds me many traditions related to funeral, burials, and eesal e sawab followed in Pakistan, which are like business to Mulla and burden on the family of the dead one. :(

Following that traditions i.e. Chaleswaan, etc., has nothing to with Islam.

re: Make-Up of Dead bodies

Chaleeswan is a far way event.. The loot start from the time of death.. The clothes and other accessories are of the dead one are given to the Molvi who give ghusl to the dead body. There was even tradition of giving the gold ornaments like (gold koka- that is worn by many women in rural areas). Normally in cities like Karachi, we have carrier in masajid, but rural areas they carry dead bodies on charpai from home to graveyard and that charpai is then given to the Mullas.. and if anyone don’t give that to Mulla, it is considered as bad thing for the dead one :bummer: Even the bister (bedsheets, etc) on which dead body was lied before taking to graveyard is also given to Mulla, etc.

I don’t have issue when people give these things on their will, but it has become a tradition like Jahez to donate all the things used by the dead one, irrespective of the financial status of the dead one.

The whole family member get together in deceased house and some of their relatives remain there till forty-days which not only create fight on completing different rituals but also an extra burden on deceased family. Deceased’s family will be responsible to provide 3 time meals to every1. There are many many stupid rituals like if the deceased’s is woman than his brothers should distribute the ‘chawal ki dheeg’ to whole family members as well as to neighbour :smack: no matter if one of deceased brother is retired, financially un-fit he must fulfill this stupid ritual.

Pata nahi kaise kaise rasmain banai howi hain.

re: Make-Up of Dead bodies

With the passing of time these traditions should have been ended, but I observe that new traditions causing financial burden on the deceased family are increasing. Waqai taleem ne hamari society ka kuch nahin bighada :bummer:
