Hi
dear guppies. I am writting about a question sorry if its already exits. But I am really looking forward to get a solution 4rm all of u if possible. So Lets starts. I am really bad at applying foundation and probably i dont know which product to buy or so far i havent found the right match for my skin. When i apply foundation its so flakey and my skin no matter how much moisturizer i apply before applying foundation its still dry. I really want to know how to get rid of this problem. As i am a single mother , dont have time to search for the right products esp with my 3 kids roaming around me.(lolz)
2nd question is which product should i buy any specific brand name. I really want to know how to achieve perfect coverage 4rm foundation like beauticians do. I really dont like when my skin showing cheeks lines and seems dull even after applying foundation.
OK so my skin is dry as u must have found out^. I dont have any blemishes or acne problem but i do have open pores and uneven skin.
Can you also suggest a good concealer as well. Thank You.
In my opinion the best brand for fondation has to be the Photofinish line by MAC. You should just go into the store and ask the lady behind the counter. They are ral good w/ pairing you up w/ the right shade of concealor and fondation. Also, a primer after your moisturizer may help. One that's recommended by a lot of people is the pink primer by Smashbox.
Another thing is that sometimes you may need 2 shades to get your own so asking a professional may save you time. And having the right application tools such as a foundation/concealor brush help.
a few of my cousins have very dry skin and although this might sound weird they put vaseline on as their moisturizer and then foundation. everything stays put and doesn't look dry or flaky
As a makeup artist - I suggest the following:
1. Use a cream cleaner in the morning - this is better for dry skin then a gel-based cleanser. If possible, also use a scrub to get all the flaky skin off.
2. Apply a good moisturizer like: Aveda Hydrating Lotion, Eucerin Senstive with SPF.
3. Apply your foundation - I like Make Up For Ever HD (found at Sephora). Try and find a liquid based formula. There are powder foundations (like Mac studio fix) - but those can be drying. Another good foundation is Moisture Blend and Studio Tech by MAC - they are in a compact but it's a solid liquid.
4. Put concealer just over spots - I like Make Up For Ever HD Concealer - you need something creamy
5. Very little powder
