I'm sorry, hon, I realize the situation is frustrating, but her business practices are what they are and your opinions about her business policies or whether or not she should travel, etc. don't matter. So long as it is stated in her contract, as you said, it is your business to read through and realize what you are agreeing to prior to hiring her. I really don't think she did anything wrong. Now if you had an email from Ronnie stating she would travel to you, then you could file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to get your money back. Do you have anything in writing stating differently what the contract does?

Hey, I find that Ronnie is hard to deal with. I was dealing mostly with Richard, very polite and normal guy. I go in once and had to talk to Ronnie and she was very difficult - to the point that I left and just dealt with Richard at a later time.
Sucks about the contract, I know. I would expect that she could move that money to bridesmaids or for you at a later date. I know they told me she couldn't travel either. And that's just b/c they book back to back to back to back like crazy! I know she used to travel a few years back - she did my sister's make up.
That said, I still am going with her - b/c some other folks I've tried to contact do not reply (ie Summera Studios) or others don't have as much experience etc. If you're a lawyer though, I'm sure you can get your money back!
