my makeup was done in surrey at my wedding few months ago by a pakistani girl,,,she did wonderfull job including mehndi(very neat in arabic style that was what i wanted, she can do shaded mehndi,glitter wali etc) makeup, hair and duppata setting all was amazing.my complexion is bit at a darker side,,she enhanced my good feature that even i was not beliving that it is me...she did glitter work on my mehndi matching with my lehngas after applying base..(most important my neck, feet, hand and arms, all were of the same complexion..foundation didn't looked patched . it took her 5 hours to do all these things on make up day,,she did really hardwork,.many people got her contact info from me..she did facial, eyebrows and waxing..all for very reasonable charges,,($500 including mehndi on hands upto elbows and feet)
she has pics of her previous work done, and i was totally satisfied after seeing her work..and ofcourse after mine i m her a big fan..

i would like to share the info from where my makeup was done..as the sadiaahadahmad was concerned about the Pakistani style like me, none of the info posted here about makeup artists in vancouver do our style . they are all indian and will make you Kaali ugli bride saying that they are doing "NATURAL" make up.WELLLLLLLL
AT LEAST I DIDN'T WANT TO LOOK NATURAL AT THAT DAY and wanted to have doll look as our traditional brides used to have.
i do remember those days when i wasted a lot of money for trial makeup and non of them could satisfied me.

So this one's for immy09, its about the pakistani girl whom she got her makeup done from. well is she really that good. I have always had a problem with makeup. I got my niqah done in pakistan and although she did really good makeup, it didn't look good on me. Any tips on who I should go to. oh and can you tell me more about her. Is she really that good? does she have a lot of experiance. where does she work, at her home or yours or her shop? plz help me out, I really apreciate this. i was talking to fari recently, she told me her current rate was 700. my friend's sister got married last year and was charged 425. when i told fari that was the charge last year, she told me that wedding was 3 years ago.. i mean i felt she was ripping me off.. she is extremely good at what she does and hence there isnt really much competition i guess but a price that high is like taking advantage of the ongoing monopoly. mind you 700 is only make up and hair and dupatta setting. facial, waxing and mehndi will most definitely cost you another 200-300 at least. its really not worth it for one day. the girl immy09 was referring to,her name is sadia and she was pretty nice over the phone. I am gonna go see her work this coming week. will keep you girls posted on how it went. i think 500 for everything including mehndi, facial and waxing is a really decent price. oh and i talked with shaifa as well. you can see some of her work on youtube. search for shaifa make up artist. she said 200 for make up and hair so that was pretty good. i think her work was decent but super.

I have heard only good things about Racquel and Shaifa regarding their work, professionalism and attitude.
This is absolutely true, and I have to say Shaifa beath Racquel by a mile. My wife got her makeup donre by both and shaifa was so patient and polite and also very affordable in comparison to other make up artists.
further she is also a fabulous hair stylist one of the best in the industry for hair and make up so I would recommend her. Of course i never had my makeup done lol i am writing just because i was looking
My wife looked so beautiful when shaifa was finishe d i did not recognize her because she looked like a breauty queen
