Salaam all!
I’m from a conservative fam and my hubby2be is from a more modern one. His side usually has what I call the “club mehndi” with the disco ball and strobe, larka larki dances..wheras in my family its mostly an all girls traditional thing…any ideas how to make the party fun for all? I dont want either side to feel uncomfortable or bored. My side are mostly girls and they’re hijabis so they will not dance in front of his guys…We’re only having one mehndi and no mayun…any ideas or suggestions?
I have seen it so that there's some time where the men are taken to a separate place so girls can dance, but that doesn't tend to work really well. Often the boys get bored while the girls are having all the fun.
hey i have that issue also, everyone in my family dances, whereas in my fiances family only the girls dance and sing songs. we are doing two seperate mehndis, but thats also because hes from isb, so hes doing his mehndi in isb and im having mine in khi.

Yeah, at least here.... the waiters are going in and out, video is being made any way, kids keep going in and out, etc..so it seems quite pointless... but the other ideas sound good, u want your hijabi frends+ family to have fun, so have a smaller function for them at home and let the in laws have fun at the "formal" mehndi.
Thanks for your thoughts guys...we actually rented a hall and are now thinking of makeing a seperator for half the night and then the boys can come join the girls side when all the girls will pop on their hijabs...the down side to that according to my fiancee is that boys dont have fun on their own and they get bored without girls (eyeroll). The problem still stands though..how keep the fun going when both sides merge? I was thinking a boys vs girls antakshari :S ?? anything to add??
so if the girls r hijabi wud they like to sing and have a competition wid de guys ?/
newayz i wud agree wid a small function for the girls where they cn have fun and then the actual mehndi
