Majority of Pakistanis don't want army in politics: IRI survey

Salam Alikum

As predicted majority of paksitani people are sick of army generals playing politics. Pakistani army is paid by the pakistan public to defend our country and not rule the country like saddam hussain or khaddafi.

Military professionalism is harmed when the army gets into politics and running the Fauji foundation business empire.

Also Please don't say the survey is not good because it didn't ask all 160 million pakistanis. You jahil authoritarian pro-mushrraf people need to take a class is statistics. A random survey of a thousand people is acurate for all 160 million people.

Majority of Pakistanis want no army role in politics

  • Judiciary enjoys more public support than army: survey

By Khalid Hasan

WASHINGTON: As many as 62 percent of people believe that the Pakistan Army should have no role in politics, compared with 55 percent in June, according to a nationwide public opinion survey conducted by a Pakistani organisation on behalf of the United States International Republican Institute (IRI).

The public standing of the Pakistan Army has declined although it still enjoys wide respect. The poll, which was conducted in the first week of September, shows that 70 percent of the respondents look favourably upon the army down from the standard 80 percent in previous surveys conducted in September 2006 and March and June 2007.

Judiciary enjoys more support: The media, with an approval rating of 80 percent, is now Pakistan’s most admired institution. The standing of the judiciary rose from 51 percent in March to 77 percent in September, the first time any institution rated more favourably than the army. That, however, was before the Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO) resulted in reshuffling of the superior courts.

The government’s approval rating stood at a very poor 24 percent while police had the lowest approval rating at 13 percent. The opposition as a whole had a favourable rating of 46 percent. Among other significant findings in the poll, most Pakistanis (76 percent) wanted Gen Pervez Musharraf to resign as army chief, 83 percent oppose the declaration of emergency rule and 73 percent believe Pakistan is now headed in the wrong direction. The IRI poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 1.5 percent.

Re: Majority of Pakistanis don’t want army in politics: IRI survey

daleel bhai. Don’t underestimate the intelligence of Pakistani public. Their silence and lack of mass protests speaks volumes for the Unprecedented Growth Pakistan has seen in the past 8 years, and their support for President Musharaf - the greatest Pakistani leader since Quaid-e-Azam. :k:

Re: Majority of Pakistanis don’t want army in politics: IRI survey

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha…

Aalsi it’s high time you should cut down on whatever you have been smoking…

How can you compare a man whose whole life was a struggle within the parameters of law with a man who ruthlessly murdered law and justice…well your normal jokes are even difficult to digest…but this latest comparision is really too much>>>>

Re: Majority of Pakistanis don’t want army in politics: IRI survey

Two things:

First to take Jinnah’s and drillmasters name in same breath is the greatest insult to Jinnah ever

secondly ask the drillmaster to lift the emergency and stop his brutal treatment of people and he will see the majority on the streets. What is he afraid of? Can you answer please? Anyone can hide behind the facade of brutal rule and claim popularity, just like Saddam and Mubarik. He is in league with them not Jinnah.

Re: Majority of Pakistanis don't want army in politics: IRI survey

I do not think so! The brutalaties are not stopping the people to come on the roads - the thing which is stopping them is the absence of one unified real leadership.

Re: Majority of Pakistanis don’t want army in politics: IRI survey

What really speaks volumes is denial on boot-lickers part, they have buried their heads in sand. You couldn’t show me such “mass protests” against criminal/corrupt/bankrupt regimes of Benazir and Nawaz Sharif and here you keep ranting about no protests against Mushy.

Re: Majority of Pakistanis don’t want army in politics: IRI survey

You are correct “Pakistan’s Sher Dil” in your assessment of what the public wants Ideally…but conditions in Pakistan are not Ideal…we all know there is a Civil War going on…

Who is more suited to rule during War…Croocked Blood Sucking ex Polititions who had their chance to show their In-Compitence!..carrying foriegn agendas…with Billions stashed away overseas…you think they have any sympathy for Pakistan? …if they did then they should put their Monies where their Big Mouth is…Right!

I am not too impressed with “Generaal” either if he starts dealing with Crooks!..then He should aquire a New Title :

“Commander of Thieves”

My question to you is did your survey Name Who is the most popular person for Pakistan???:what:

Re: Majority of Pakistanis don't want army in politics: IRI survey

They should be in jail for the crimes they committed, by keeping them alive in politics is bigger crime IMO.

Lets not get carried away, we can call him "Thief of Army Staff"... this way only he gets labelled and not the entire army.

Re: Majority of Pakistanis don't want army in politics: IRI survey

Or we can call him NA-PAK CHIEF OF PAK ARMY.
