There are some areas that have been evacuated already..NO mayor Nagin, you want to see organized and planned evacuation ....check out how Galveston is taking care of its residents ...then come and see how mayor white is taking steps to make sure that houston's citizens are safe...

Anyway, my wife and kids are leaving town tomorrow morning to go inland...past Dallas. Captain1, dallas is in the path of the hurricane...you may not get the brunt of it but you are going to get plenty of rain andhigh winds...
Where I live...100-110 mph winds and heavy showers are expected starting friday night till sunday night...please pray for me...I will be staying home....tomorrow is the window boarding/taping day for me....anybody want to lend a hand come on down....

The problem will be finding a place to stay....

I went through Hurricane Bob in 1991. As the eye wall went over at about 100mph, I watched as trees were plucked out of the ground, as if invisible hands were pulling on every leaf. 100mph winds are still very dangerous, and can carry inland over 100 miles. Be safe, leave early, go far.
