One day Majnoo the famous lover of Laila was walking and thinking of his beloved,
He came to pass across the Masjid and was so deep in thought he entered the Masjid and walked right infront of the Molvi sahab who was at his prayers…
when Molvi sahib finished he rushed over to admonish Majnoo for his disturbing the prayer…
Majnoo stopped abruptly having been disturbed from his deep thought by the Molvi’s shouting…
He replied calmly that I was deep in thought and was reflecting over my beloved and was so entranced with those thougths I did not realise that I had enroached on your prayers, forgive me.
But please tell me Molvi sahib why were you so concentrated upon me when you were supposed to be reasing namaaz?
That folks is the nub of it…
People are quick to pick up on others faults but they are so enchanted by actions of others they forget thier own duty.
I've heard this anecdote before and never really liked it ... It is not only the level of love and concentration that is important, but the direction of that love and concentration.
A man who is doing good with partial concentration is not worse than a man doing bad with full concentration.
Besides a good counter response to that would be "Your love makes you blind to those things around you, my love increases my vision" the molvi could have said.
People are quick to pick up on others faults but they are so enchanted by actions of others they forget thier own duty.
ive not seen the movie but afaik namaz can be broken by others, so the molvi was right and majnu the transvestite was wrong
as for your political statement it is right to be slow in some situations and more rapid in others. no point learning the one pace of the majnu- hes out of it
