If this sentence is used for Hazrat Yosuf AS’ s story, then why on earth someone will ask if zulaikha was mard or orat?

Yes its about Hazrat Yusuf ASA. Miyan Muhammad Bux ( a Punjabi poet) wrote it like traditional folk stories.

Because Quran covers only relevant details of the story and our poets added a lot in the story (from unknown sources) to make it like any ordinary story.

The sentence is used to refer the situation when anyone could not understand the basics of a thing after hearing lot of explanations.

I haven't read miyan Sahabs written story,

I have read real one in Quran e Pak.

The basic source might be Jewish folklore that has been adapted even in many of our Tafaseer e Quran.
