The Pakistan government was asked to appoint an acting chairman for the Pakistan Cricket Board after Zaka Ashraf was barred to perform his duties as chairman PCB on the orders of Islamabad high court. Three names have come to the fore for the post.

The names of Majid Khan, Chishti Mujahid and Mumtaz Haider Rizvi are under consideration and have been sent to the Prime Minister for approval.

Zaka Ashraf was stood down from working last month as PCB chairman by judge Shaukat Aziz Siddique after a former Rawalpindi cricket official said the recent elections were unfair.

Siddique rejected a request to allow Ashraf to attend the ICC’s annual meeting in London later this month, instead asking the government for a temporary appointment to represent Pakistan.

The next hearing date to try and resolve the chairmanship is set for June 19.

An 11-member PCB board of governors chose Ashraf as chairman last month after he was approved by a four-man committee.

But former official Ahmad Nadeem Sadal said several regions weren’t included on the board and should’ve been given an opportunity to vote.

Last month, Siddique said Ashraf’s election appeared to be “polluted.‘’

Since Ashraf’s appointment, several cricketing associations across the country have challenged his appointment at the Lahore High Court.

Former captain Rashid Latif has also moved a similar petition in a Karachi court.

Ashraf believes his election was in line with the International Cricket Council’s directives, in which all the cricket boards were asked to have a democratic setup and there is an absence of government interference.

Who gets your vote (and why)?

Re: Majid Khan, Chishti Mujahid & Haider in line for caretaker chairman PCB

Aamir Sohail is apparently running for the President of Lahore city cricket association

There goes Lahore Cricket too :smack:

Re: Majid Khan, Chishti Mujahid & Haider in line for caretaker chairman PCB

If the government can't interfere with Pakistan cricket then how come they are going to appoint a caretaker chairman? BTW, Zaka Ahsraf is one sneaky *******.

Re: Majid Khan, Chishti Mujahid & Haider in line for caretaker chairman PCB

The care taker would have to get a proper candidate elected at the earliest to be inline with ICC rules. I would put my vote for Chishty hoping that he would be neutral and have a good person elected to take the charge.

BTW what was wrong with Ramiz and why was he removed or did he quit?
I think he would be a good Chairman.

Re: Majid Khan, Chishti Mujahid & Haider in line for caretaker chairman PCB

funny how politically motivated actions reveal so much about a person's character.

Re: Majid Khan, Chishti Mujahid & Haider in line for caretaker chairman PCB

Listen to Imran praising Aamer Sohail who behaves quite a bit questionably and then Imran criticizes him honestly.

So lessons for Aamer Sahab?

Indians commenting on this same incident..

Re: Majid Khan, Chishti Mujahid & Haider in line for caretaker chairman PCB

BTW that same rush of blood or exaggeration from Aamer led eventually to a big collapse from which the team could not recover and eventually got shot out of the WC since it was the QF.

For those of you who don't know, Chishti Mujahid is the uncle or mamoon of Sikander Bakht
