“Every moment is liberal,” intones the delirious chorus at the climax of Bollywood’s stirring Main Hoon Na (I Am There For You), “how can anyone ever stay subdued?” With a great deal of difficulty, is the answer. The restless, almost demonic energy of this cross-genre extravaganza is compelling, belying its three-hour length and occasional cheesiness.
First-time director Farah Khan, who choreographed Monsoon Wedding and Bombay Dreams, puts us through an assault course of acrobatics, murder, family breakdown and teen romance, and that’s just the first 20 minutes.
It is like watching Tarantino, without the unbearably hip smirk. And I found something genuinely moving about the references to the India-Pakistan conflict; there is a real sense of a weighty issue making its presence felt amid the frothy turmoil.
Every moment liberal? I wouldn’t go as far as that, when one of the principal resolutions turns out to revolve around the young rebellious hero (Zayed, son of Sanjay, Khan) getting his hair cut to please his mum. But you can feel the social tensions in the air and it is irresistibly exciting.
I watched it last night its and good movie. It has everything, action, romance, comedy. Leave your brains at home and you'll enjoy this movie. Its not anything new, or pathbreaking...but you wouldn't get bored for the 3 hours you spend watching this movie.
My bro hated it.... he said.. the whole movie is so stupid.. i dont know.. if i m gonna watch it.. or i should just rent it when it comes on Video..lol
Like yaasir said..it's nothing novel. Shah Rukh is in a supervisory role but it is a very colourful, funny and vibrant movie..leaves you feeling happy and light :)
KKHH, was defo one of a kind. Preferred it to DDLJ.
I saw it too. The parts with SRK and Sushmita were the ones I found amusing. Her sari’s are gorgeous  That Zaid khan looks like my boss’s adolescent pimple faced son. The action was good until they started making it look like Matrix with SRK jumping horizontally and staying in the air till every target was shot. Sushmita’s sari’s were lovely. I am a little tired with all the colour these ppl use in the movies. The college looks more like a nursery with coloured walls, boards, chalks, decorations and all. It’s just too much colour to be true even though it looks very appealing. Shahrukh looked particularly good in a couple of shots. Story is alright too with a non anti-pakistan air to it, even though at a couple of places you tend to think that over for a bit. Oh and did I mention Sushmita’s sari’s were gorgeous?
SRK, i must be the ONLYYY one to hate him. He bugs like no ones business.
Sushmita, she did look stunning. As of late she's been looking lacklustre, old and a little tubbier. She looked beautiful in this..althought she did overdo it in that song..can't remember the name but when she's got barely there kapray. That kinda stuff suits the Urmilas of the world.
I watched it over the weekend DD and really enjoyed it - with all its cheesy bits!! haha! My fav parts were when Srk sees Sush and starts singing and cannot control himself I was laughing too much hahaha! The principal dude was funny too and Srk looked good in uniform! The knotted blouses looked SO COOL on Sush man!! But you are right the very lil clothes bit in the dream song sequence was a bit too much.
It was so good to see Srk in Action after a long time! (I’m an srk fan :D) and not doing his typical rona dhona bit - phishew! the part where he dodges the spit balls in a matrix like move - TOO FUNNY!! Makko Man
i really liked it. it was different in so many ways! like my friend mentioned, the action sequences look like dance steps…that was cool! the best part (s) was the matrix-spit part…HILARIOUS! and when SRK sees Sush for the first time and starts singing and can not put his arms down and whenever he starts singing and OMG! her dresses in the movie! her saris and the dresses that she wore in the only song with her and SRK…AND the dress that amrita wore when she got all girl-o-fied. and her arm thingies before and the braces. and omg! it is just sooooooo good! MUST WATCH!
