I dont think thats what they are trying to show. They are showing the difficulties a couple meet when they have different religious backgrounds and what happens when you let a 3rd person, even if that person is your own mother, come between you and your spouse. Furthermore, I think they’re showing how “big” a sin it is to take a false oath on Quran, because honestly it has become very common among muslims to do so and to bring Quran into everything. I do however agree, that their whole idea about her getting aids due to this is a bit overdone, but I think we should remember, we do get punished for our sins whether we realize or not.

what did she take a false oath on…what was the reason…why did they get divorced..
