Mahmood leads Surrey's charge

Azhar Mahmood was the star of the show, taking 4 for 29 as Kent were reduced to 136 for 8, while Martin Bicknell was also in the wickets. At Northampton, Ben Hutton gave Middlesex a strong start with an unbeaten 88, out of a total of 182 for 2.

My question:

** WHY THE HECK HE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE TEAM RITE NOW ? **link

cuz the goons r the best in county cricket and when they come to international matches it seems they dont even know hot to bowl....

Though i like afridi, but i would rather have mehmood in our team.

i agree with armughal :k:
one example is mushtaq ahmed

Afridi has been included as a bowler rather than a batsman. I would assume that he will provide a leg spin option as opposed to medium pace which is provided by Rana. I think Azhar is probably better than Rana myself but I gues the management want to have a proper look at Rana.

*i beg to differ as far as mushy is concerned. he had been out of the international set up for 2 and half years b4 he was recalled for the home series with south africa {tests}, shame he got a rib injury in the odi’s against the africans.

inzi’ let kaneria {in the tests} bowl the bulk of the overs but gave mushy like 10 overs per innings and was that enough time for someone who had not played INTERNATIONAL cricket for a long time to just spin some magic like the gr8 abdul qaadir could. i think not.

i stand by my comment in general in regards to how pak has a habit of wrecking promisng careers of sportsmen, they have done the same with mushy in the latter stages of his career.*

Mushtaq is pure class. No matter what he does rite now, I can never forget the type of bowler he was in early and mid 90s. Mushtaq was a terror. Its a shame, we had him wasted.

Mushtaq like Saqi is finished as a spinner at test level. He has no problems taking wickets in county cricket but gets beaten like a cur by quality batsmen. His googly is his main asset but players have worked out how to counter it and he doesn't spin the leggie enough to get wickets by other means.

what an irony…
our fast bowlers dont get wasted but our spinners get wasted in mid-20s…

or is it just the county cricket??? :konfused:

Our spinners don't get wasted, they get worked out. Saqi's doosra is no longer a surprise ball and Mushy I explained above. Why does Shane Warne not get worked out? because he spins the leggie a yard and combines that with a lethal dipper. Does that clear things up any?
