yeah the trailer looks interesting... except for the hero pales in comparison to the rest of the cast. but lets see how he performs. I'll watch it for the writer cuz he has some solid writing credits.

He should not write so frequently.We need better stories not the same old stories one after another.He is a good writer I like him but I think occasional writing helps in building up a good story line and creating better characters.

The promos says that its different. At least, they are finally portraying rural areas and characters from rural areas.

First episode was good...So glad there isnt ghissay pittay actors in it...Dialogues have typical Khalil ur Rehman feel to it...waiting for the next episode

^ Lol! The baitbazi scene was nice and I liked the over all feel of the rural life shown in the drama. All reviews have been pretty good and after PA people are expecting this to be the next biggy from KRQ. Looking forward to the next episode.
P.s. Rehan Sheikh's character sounds too much like ch. Shujaat lol

this drama addresses a major grievance I've had with private TV productions, namely Karachi centric settings. This trend is in sharp contrast with PTV productions which by virtue of their centres in the provincial capitals of the country ensured the projection of the diverse culture, backdrops and ethnicities from various parts of the country. Travelling by the GT road, I have been nostalgic on various occasions for the 5 o clock Punjabi plays that focused on rural themes and depicted some memorable on location shoots. It was refreshing to hear names of villages from northern and Central Punjab that I recall from childhood like Chotee Chak and Bhopal Wala. Having said that I could not for the life of me understand why they'd cast Farhan Ali Agha as husband to an actress probably twice his age and father to an actor who looks like a younger sibling at best. The role begged for someone like Irfan Khoosat, Ghayoor Akhtar or Firdous Jamal to bring authenticity to the proceedings. Mahira looks ethereal as always, Adnan Malik wears too much makeup and Rehan Sheikh's Ch. Shujaat voice can only be explained as a plot device. Nothing outstanding so far but we'd have to wait and see.

Those were golden days of television. The 5 o click Punjabi plays had beautiful scripts and excellent direction. These days dramas settings appear very artificial. I don't think even Karachi centric drams depict the real life of karachi and Sindh. During PTV days, Karachi center dramas like Marvi and Nasal were more true to life then the dramas being produced today. There are no plays set in Lahore. Gone are the days of Janjal Pura and Sona Chandi.
