Mahdi- how would you know?

This dude had a vision: http://ummah.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69897

that mahdi is already here.

My question is…how do you know he is “the one” ? since every sect has their sources telling them mahdi will come and fight the “deviant sect”. so if mahdi came and told you your sect is the deviant one…would you accept it? will you accept him?

Re: Mahdi- how would you know?

Most likely intially ppl will not. You can see the examples with Hazrat Isa and Hazrat Muhammad (as). They both knew a Prophet was to come; the jews were expecting some wealthy king, the christians were expecting a christian. Neither got what they expected and hence they were rejected by the majority.

Re: Mahdi- how would you know?

Most definitive proof will be that the sufyani army sent to crush him will be destroyed in the desert

Re: Mahdi- how would you know?

^^^ Thats the proof for Mahdi as far as i know. He will defend the Kahba against that Army, which will be destroyed enroute to engage him with very few stragglers left to tell the story. That will be the sign to all muslims that he is indeed the Mahdi.

Edit - Those predictions in the thread are very bold indeed. We know that only Prophets have dreams that are true, and this man claims to have visions. Visions can be trickery by the Shaitan.

Only Allah knows the future...no man can claim to know it. There are those who use the Jinn and Devils to obtain the knowledge of the future, however the jinn and devils usually mix a hundred lies in with the one piece of knowledge they provide (as evidenced by Hadith of the Prophet Sallallah Alaih Wasalam).

Rest Assured..we will insha'Allah know when the Mahdi has arrived, as the signs will be unmistakeable. May Allah guide us all to be on the side of the righteous and not get swept away by them due to our wrong doings, pride and misunderstandings.

May Allah provide us all the proper clear cut understanding of our religion and grant us the ability to understand the signs of the Mahdi and side with him, instead of against him.

Re: Mahdi- how would you know?

Das, what is the sufyani army ? From what i remember the army would consist of muslims and non muslims alike.

here is another one

Book 36, Number 4273: *Narrated Umm Salamah, Ummul Mu'minin:
The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: Disagreement will occur at the death of a caliph and a man of the people of Medina will come flying forth to Mecca. Some of the people of Mecca will come to him, bring him out against his will and swear allegiance to him between the Corner and the Maqam. An expeditionary force will then be sent against him from Syria but will be swallowed up in the desert between Mecca and Medina. When the people see that, the eminent saints of Syria and the best people of Iraq will come to him and swear allegiance to him between the Corner and the Maqam.
**Then there will arise a man of Quraysh whose maternal uncles belong to Kalb and send against them an expeditionary force which will be overcome by them, and that is the expedition of Kalb.
* Disappointed will be the one who does not receive the booty of Kalb. He will divide the property, and will govern the people by the Sunnah of their Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) and establish Islam on Earth. He will remain seven years, then die, and the Muslims will pray over him.

Re: Mahdi- how would you know?

That speaks of the death of a Caliph...does that mean a Khilafat will be established before that ?

Re: Mahdi- how would you know?

Here’s the funny thing…

He says initially not to confuse him with terrorism and anything…Then goes on to say that he will be equally harsh on both Muslims and non-Muslims…

In a second the western media will label anyone like that as a terrorist…And of course, majority of the Muslims being sheep as they are to the western media, will believe it and part ways with him, curse him, abuse him and most will probably even try and kill him…All on the insistence of the media…Just like is happened with Isa :as:…

From Sunni sources we gather, that the Mahdi alongwith his companions will be so few that you will be able to count them on your fingers…They will be very few in numbers…Majority of the Muslims will have rejected him…Those Muslims’ fate will be the same as any non-believer…I can tell you, if the Mahdi comes today, I too will probably be one of those who will have rejected him because of a) popular opinion and b) ignorance…

Re: Mahdi- how would you know?

one thing i know for sure, anyone who jumps up screaming and claiming that he is the imam mehdi is definitely a liar....

when a ruler comes to the muslims who is just and fair and rules according to the sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (saw), ppl will know that he is the man they were waiting for....

and anyone who himself claims the title is nothing but a liar....

Re: Mahdi- how would you know?

Kind of similar words were used against out beloved Prophet Mohammed and Jesus and Moses (MPBAOT) and the list goes on.
If one claims to be what he is then others should question him then wait and see what Allah does for us and him.

Re: Mahdi- how would you know?

Prophet Muhammad was the Last Prophet of Allah.........So It is clear according to Quran there is no Prophet after Him(saw).........And According to a Hadith Mahdi will never claim that he's "mahdi".
So every thing is clear according to Quran and hadith........whats so confusing then?

Re: Mahdi- how would you know?

The confusion is that I didn't hear or read him personally say it, did you? Or you are just posting what someone else said who heard from someone else?

Re: Mahdi- how would you know?

Can you referrence this? because it is written in hadith again, and again, and again, and again, and again... that the dream of a believer, near the end of time, will hardly ever be false. This is compensation to the believers for being so far in time (since the life of Muhammad [pbuh]).
Now it is up to the man to choose whether the dream is Rahmaani (from Allah [swt]) or Nafsaani (relating to his everyday activities). As for the others, it is up to them if they want to believe this man's dream or not.
