Pls dont feel blamed. Why should we indians be ashamed only because Gandhi was a racist.Being Racist dosent negates the fact that Bapu Gandhi did alot for indians.Gandi jee had a strategy. He segregated indians from blacks so that the world understands that black and indians are not same.
Bapu gandhi dident liked blacks and called them subhumans. You can check out wikipedia and numerous unbiased resources all over the web.
(I cant post links cause of my low posts)
Pls feel Proud and keep your heads raised as father’s of nation’s like Bapu Gandhi are leaders of few selected prestigious nations.
Americans have an ability to bring ignorance and ridicule to the most respectable of beings..
Afsos to Shurti for posting this rubbish

Gandhi's early struggle in south Africa was predicated on the idea that Europeans should treat Indians better than they did because the Indians were better than Blacks
Just because he was racist doesn't negate what he has done in the world, it only reaffirms the complicated ideals that occupy the human heart.
His views softened somewhat as he grew older but his campaign of non-violence was for the equal treatment of Indians, not Blacks.
Just because your disappointed (as I was) to find this out, doesn't mean it isn't true.
here i quote Bapu gandhi
"Ours is one continued struggle against degradation sought to be inflicted upon us by the European, who desire to degrade us to the level of the raw Kaffir, whose occupation is hunting and whose sole ambition is to collect a certain number of cattle to buy a wife with, and then pass his life in indolence and nakedness."
Pls dont feel blamed and ashamed.Mahatma Gandhi is the father of our nation and sign to the free world that Indians are not black.
Re: Mahatma Gandhi you never knew..Truly Inspirational
[note]I'm leaving the thread open b/c it does brings up interesting side of Mr. Gandhi, however, I have removed the video for profane language. If you're interested in seeing the video do it at your own risk. The title of the video on youtube is: Some historical facts & Sex Scandal of Bapu Mahatma Gandhi- Thanks to another Singh for exposing.
Thread stays open for time being, but I'll keep an eye on it [/note]

As i said earlier pls dont feel shame and embarassment? There is no need to feel guilty.Mahatma Gandhi hasnt done anything wrong. He fought for the rights of us indians.Do u know if he hadent segregated Indians from Blacks what difficulties indians would have to face in U.S.A post world war 2??
Would it make you feel any better if this thread get closed and deleted?Do u think u can ban and delete an idea??think again.I dont think so.
This thread will pop up again. There is no need to be apologetic for what the father of my nation Mahatma Gandhi said. Its all documented so its better if we own it rather than closing our eyes cause closing the eyes dosent makes the fox disappear.
Re: Mahatma Gandhi you never knew..Truly Inspirational
please keep posting, I saw your videos in the video forum, and they represent a side of India that is sadly becoming forgotten in all the media manufactured image (same as with your accurate picture of Mahatma Gandhi). Everyone thinks the average indian is like Shah Rukh Khan (who's parents are from peshawar mind u) although the reality is u and ur husband Baba Giri represent India much better.
but sometimes these “attacks” are probably statements of truth, don’t you think?
i’m sure there are many such instances on gupshup. pakistan boy pretending to be indian girl…indian pretending to be pakistani…second-generation american UP bhaiyya pretending to be kashmiri girl from srinagar…etc.
Re: Mahatma Gandhi you never knew..Truly Inspirational
i dont disagree with you nikhil. ad hominem "attacks" arent necessarily a) untrue or b) attacks in the sense of being offensive (the attack refers to attack as a debating strategy).
as you I am sure understand, I am enjoying Ms. Shruti's posts, and would like as much of it possible to happen without interruption. therefore i'd like skepticism on her background to be split off and moved to another forum, possibly cafe (where personal introductions are more proper and less distracting..)

Nikhil jee parnam and namaste_/_.
Pls dont get me wrong. As i earlier said there is not need to be ashamed and feel guilty about what the father of our nation Mahatma Gandhi jee said.
He did it for my and your benefit.By posting such comments you are not only undermining yourself but also your fellow countrymen.
You should know one thing that although majority of indians suffer from inferiority complex cause of their complexion and slave history, majority is never totality.I am proud of my complexion and history. There is no need to feel the blame. My husband bir giri ji can look like a pogo to foreigners but to me he is more sexier than johnny depp.
This is a Pakistani forum and we should be thankful to Pakistani for allowing us to showcase the traits of our beloved father of nation,Barrister Gandhi.
Pakistanis have always displayed sportsmanship and i look up to them for this.
There is nothing left in hostilites.Whenever we show up on world scene as potential future superpower ,some Pakistani minister shows up and tells BBC that we want negotiations with india on an equal level.
So what is that supposed to mean. The entire image of glory that we make just comes down crashing like a house of cards and we have to start from beginning.
So what i am trying to say is that we should accept who we are and then set our goals other than setting the goals first and then determining who we are.
