Please post pictures of Maha jaal dupatta’s… hope u guys know what im talking about. The traditional one’s…
I wanna make one in my Jahez InshAllah… just can’t find the rite one. May be i can show a pic to someone and get it made.
No, chanda....
They are the dupatta's full of work... erm not too sure how to explain.
I guess they used to have that kiran in older times. but i don't want that.. just the jaal wala dupatta.... i think its called Maha jaal.
Anyone?
Sounds good chanda..... I'm thinking to go for a plain raw silk suit.. And maha jaal duppatta.
Now will this look good with pants (as thr IN) or a shalwar..?
aha so this is 'maha jaal' - did not know this term!
on the subject of dupattas - does anyone know what that extra bridal dupatta is called - usually red and gold and worn on the bridal outfit especially if it's a saree or a khada dupatta (since you can't cover your head with it)? i've seen cousins wearing that dupatta over their head for days after their wedding, so i guess it's some kind of tradition. my mom still has hers.
most are quite indelicate and frankly, blegh. mom wants me to have one and i totally refused at first, but now am on the look out for pretty looking dupattas.
that nida azwer one.. omg LOVE. i could totally wear that on my head for a month quite happily :)
so pretty! for my bro's mehendi, the girls will all be wearing black brocade churidaars with long shirts in different colors with gota on them and i really want these maha jaal dupatta's. i bet i could find some ready made ones in karachi- mahi, any ideas where to look for them?
My grandmother had one of these dupattas in her dowry. It was black with beautiful intricate gota work and deep pink trims...
My mother got that when she got married and she wore it to a few events.Later I got to wear it once to my phuppo's wedding...
Its too old now and the fabric is kinda worn out at places so my mother has it all preserved now..
I wish I had a picture...it was so beautiful...:(

Don't know about ready made dupattas, SGC but I'll ask around. BTW, I have found PLK to be really reliable in making stuff. I guess they would be a good choice.
