Magic of Cold Shower

It applies to only those mornings when you wake up as a tired wreck. Since, the day before, you have forgotten while playing or working-out that you are bound to pay the price, the next day. So, what do you do when you feel giddy and more like a geezer after waking up? Drag yourself to the washroom, and take a cold shower for few minutes. As torturous as it may sound, your soar and achy muscles recover very quickly. The trick is to get rid all the built up of lactic acid. Some therapists recommend taking combination of hot and cold showers. Although, few minutes under cold water always sooths me up, and I am ready to go. It’s almost like applying an ice pack to the whole body as you would normally do after spraining an ankle or getting a bruise. So try it the next time, when it seems too much of a struggle to get yourself out of bed due to soar ness..

Although, few minutes under cold water always sooths me up,..<<<

Outlaw, I had thought that it sooths you down. I am definitely going to give it a try. However, when I go to my village in Punjab, having a cold bath, either at Kho (well) or in the house is very refreshing, even during winter.

Cold showers are good but I think its even better when you switch between hot and cold water for a few monutes, it really gets you going in the mornings.

actually starting with hot and then switching to cold is the best way. not going back and forth. Incidentally that is exactly what agent 007 does, as every true Bond fan would know (i.e. those who have read the books and are not just slave to the movies)

switching from hot to cold is something which the ancient Romans already used to do in their Therms in Rome:

first use normal water to just get into it: then make it hot to make sure that ur sweatglands open up and al the filth is washed away, then go to cold water to again wash away filth and close ur sweat glands again.....

nescio thanks for that wonderful piece of info... i shall write it down and use it in my daily life. God bless your all shower knowing soul sir.

wow shower science!

now we’re talking about showers: just wanted to tell u my latest discovery!

it’s about Lifebuoy! I always thought it was a Pakistani brand, but I only recently found out it was a Dutch brand from the Unilever company…:k:

so, everyone! use lifebuoy!!! (some ppl I know work there)

NYA: I know man..in villages, usually there are no such luxuries as boilers, and I always felt like a wimp asking for any hot water for bath, therefore, do as the villagers do..and if it's fresh out of well..even better :)

BRRRRRRRR!

Re: Magic of Cold Shower

I HATE cold showers

Even in summer I take hot showers.

I remember once as kids my brother and I were in Karachi in a heatwave, and my brother was still taking such a hot shower that it was as though steam was coming out from under the bathroom door and filling up the adjoining bedroom. My nana, nani, mamu, mami and mother were all banging ont he door asking if he was ok

Re: Magic of Cold Shower

A quick rinse with cold water after a warm/hot bath makes your body... ah... "tight"... ahem
