I was wondering has anyone used magic jack? I just paid for it today but been wondering if it works from Pakistan since im gona send it over there.

You need broadband internet in Pakistan for it to work. So unless you are in a big city where broadband is available cheaply it's waste of money.

It's VoIP based, should work anywhere there is internet. But like a1kashur suggested, best to have high speed internet for uninterrupted connection. The price is almost a steal, i saw it advertised for $19.99 for the entire year.

Skype is good. But you can only use it when u sit in front of ur computer. with magic jack we can recieve calls on phones. Just like call centric is working for us. But it cost around 25 bucks a month. I find magic jack much cheaper. :)

Magic Jack needs to be attached to a computer. Only way you can do it on the go if your laptop is connected to the wi fi or has a wireless plan through a mobile service

I am sure edge based phones can do skype .. maybe many wifi enabled smart phones, when not in service area can do skype ..

You usually have to pay for skyp to make calls on landlines or cell phones... For Magic jack, you just have to pay like 20 bucks a year and you can make calls anywhere around the globe. Isnt it cool!!!!

by the way u pay around 50 bucks for the first year, that includes the device, service, shipping and handling.... After the first year, you just pay $ 20 per year....

its a great thing.,. i used in in europes.. works like a charm. .but do have some problems in lahore/faisalabad...

probably PTCL voip blocking..

i live in Canada, and sent a Magic Jack to my father in Karachi, who has PTCL Broadband. Magic Jack works awesome and calls are crystal clear. Not bad for $20 per year.
