Re: Magic cream by afrozashawal

Titanium dioxide is used in sunblock and it can leave behind a whitish cast on the skin but it does not bleach or lighten the skin as it cannot penetrate the skin on a deeper level. Vitamin C does brighten the skin and can help in the fighting sun damage, but brightening is not the same as lightening. Vitamin A can increase cell turnover so that your skin is exfoliating which can make skin look brighter and more clearer and kinda sorta lighter. I've used pharmaceutical grade products containing these vitamins and they do make my skin look brighter and lighter....but not by much. It's not a dramatic change. Vitamin E is used as an emollient and is said to lighten a bit over time.

Not sure why the owner is being so secretive or vague when bigger companies will even list exactly what vitamins and minerals are being used. Since you've asked her about the ingredients in her cream, now ask her about how exactly the whitening/brightening takes place. I'm curious to know about the mechanism.

Coincidentally, I just came across this cream yesterday (on Instagram) as well, and was going to start a thread similar to yours. My main concern is pigmentation, not the post-inflam kind (from spots) but more from having a yellowish/olive desi tone, especially around my mouth. This cream does look too good to be true, and there is a lot of vagueness surrounding it by the owners - which is a major put off. The results are astonishing - however, what happens when you stop the cream? Tempting as it, I am really hesitant. I am trying out some brightening serums (elemis, ole henriskon). I will post how far they fare. (If anyone is interested lol)

Re: Magic cream by afrozashawal

Hi girls. I have been using this cream for the last three weeks and it has done nothing for me. I was rather disappointed as I paid a lot and judging by the reviews I felt it would actually work. In 3 weeks I have not experienced any difference in my pigmentation or skin tone.
