Madrid

I will be in Madrid from January 16th to 20th. Since it will be an official trip I’m afraid that I won’t have a lot of time for sightseeing, but just in case I do:

  1. What are “must-sees” in Madrid? (Preferably some indoor stuff, because it’s gonna be cold)
  2. How good is the public transport network in Madrid? Is it better to go for Taxis or are the busses/trams/subways good enough?
  3. How is Madrid price-wise?

I went there during summer of '98. I’m not sure if winter is a good time to see Spain in its glory. The subway system is not too bad but it is worse than London. It will get you to the tourist spots without injuries…castles, gardens, shopping centers etc.
I’m not sure if they have bullfights during winter season but the one we saw was in an open dome. Don’t miss it if there are any such events. People seemed quite laid back..nice place for a visit.
There is a must see castle..but it is like 20 minutes out of Madrid...I will see if i can find the name for you.

Bull fighting

I highly doubt that there will be any bull fighting in January.
