Madhubala was Pathan.
For ppl. who were either not born or never seen mughle azam,Madhubala was blessed with vey beutifull face. She was NOT punjabi but Pathan & her father Attaullah Khan, like all Pathan was famous for short temper &Jalali. He refused to give Madhubalas hand to Dilip Kumar himself a Pathan. What happened late in case you dont know Dilip married very late at 44+ with 20 yr.old Saira Banu & madhubala ,was cursed to live out her life at the pity of film friends like Kishore whom she married in very terminally ill condition, most probably NOT for neptuial reasons but may be for caretaker of her dying days from congenital heart disease which probably could be prolonged to day in America by heart transplant but for that period it was not common even in America then. http://www.timesofindia.com/130201/13mpun1.ht
Madhubala or Madhuri?
Madhubala or Madhuri. Who is more beautiful? Beauty cannot be compared,
they say, but it being the late Madhubala’s birth anniversary today
(February 14), city-based ‘stripling’ artist Ashok Kumar Bhaduri was
inspired to do a quick comparative study.
After a series of sketches of the two lovely ladies, Bhaduri’s personal
opinion is that Madhubala was truly incomparable. “Madhubala was
undoubtedly the most beautiful face to grace the silver screen in our
country; and this despite Madhuri’s obvious good looks,” says the
artist, who has grown up sketching Bollywood stars for some 30 years
now.
Bhaduri’s childhood was unusual, what with the pencil and eraser being
his toys rather than the ubiquitous cricket bat and ball.
Bollywood stars caught his fancy, and he would spend hours staring at
cinema posters at some of the cantonment’s old world cinema halls.
While he used pencils to sketch these faces as a child, the teenage and
early college years saw him shift to the fountain pen, and it is this
simple writing implement that has become his creative tool today.
The pens have helped him master the art of ‘stripling’, as he calls
them, where he uses his pen to sketch a series of dots, through which he
is able to depict the beautiful and handsome faces of our film actors
and actresses.
A childhood passion has today so engulfed the 40-plus government
official that he has conducted a series of exhibitions which have seen
him display as many as 100 sketches of Madhubala, Dev Anand and many
other stars.
What next?
A series called ‘Actresses of the Millennium’, which will include
