Interesting you brought the question up cuz I was thinking of it a while ago.
I have read many a time that she's beautiful. I had a friend who would often remark upon her beauty. I don't feel that pull or attraction toward her. In some pictures, I do think she looks charming...but I've never felt the level of mesmerization that so many others do. I don't feel that strongly for Marilyn Monroe either. Am I the only one?

Madhubalas beauty was enhanced by her freshness, simplicity, class, elegance and a tragic aura about her. Actress of my dad's youth. And she was beautiful without these attributes

Surprisingly, I watched her movie Taraana (1951) few days ago.
I think it's a combo, black and white enhanced her already beautiful features, plus very good dramatic expressions gave her obvious charm.
True treasure to hindi cinema.

she looked good sometimes but she was not pretty like a feminine beauty..she had broad/big features eg her nose. compared to her marliyn was prettier.
