how do u deal with it? i usually get placed into that dumbness category quite often so i dont mind too much, but when i know im making relevant points and have a good argument, i HATE being treated like a 5 yr old
lately, ive been having to make points which go unnoticed or washed away by “isko kya patha…” but then when another person states the same point, it gets accepted as “sahi.. yehi tho mein ke rahi thi”
ive decided not to participate in coversations from now on, its not worth it
How about looking at situations from other people’s perspective. Sometimes it is wise not to make a comment and sometimes you should come off authoritatively. I am sure you are smart enough to judge what to do when…
its not really about giving advice or anything… lets say ur having a general conversation amongst 4-5 people about Islam or politics.. whatever.. and u do have relevant points.. not decisions, just points people should consider..
coming across auhoritively is not a talent or quality i have thats prob one of the reason why noone really wants to listen… (suprisingly though, my bro in all this has been listening to me.. )
Well, if you have your facts straight then it’s hard to imagine that people would deny your point. I’d say don’t let yourself down for no reason. It may look humble but not a good quality to have.

trust me, some people just dont want to listen to ur point cus it'll mean they are somehow in the wrong.. they'd rather be wronged by an adult or with "more" knowledge..
oh, na im not being humble.. i was quite vocal about my opinion not being acknowledged haha
^^ awwwwwwww lol, sadzzz that must get annoying after a while eh. Next time, you say a point and they are ignoring you....... try not to be the first one to comment. But wait untill some of them have given their opinion and then by taking one of the points, give your opinion by agreeing or disagreeing with that point. Try if this works.......usually works with me :)
hey faisal, thats actually quite a good way of dealing with it.. i will try that next time :k: but ive sorta decided im going to vanish from the scene when some controversial topic arises.. i know how strongly i feel about certain things and cant stay quiet for tooo long
^^ your welcome jee! but if you still cannot hold yourself from being the first one to dive in the conversation, I must agree with mutsui’s statement. :halo:
joking around, like how my younger bro is always jokinly making fun of my driving etc is OK, but i would never want to be written off as "dumb" or someone who's opinions are to be just ignored jus coz im a girl...i would want my opinion and views to count and be taken seriously
