Both more or less serve the same purpose, if i was to buy one , which one would you recomend?
and which one of them is more shimmery?

I’ve no clue so I’m not much help here. I’m interested myself in trying out the Strobe cream. Apparently that’s what western and desi celebs like Kareena Kapoor apply to get that dewy look. A long time ago…I posted 2 youtube videos on a strobe cream demo. So here they are and you can get an idea about it:

I found strobe cream when I went to buy foundation at MAC and the girl there put it on my face before applying the foundation. I asked her what it was for and she said that since I have such yellow undertones, the SC will tone that down and my complexion wouldn't look so yellowish. She has always done my makeup for every event, even my wedding, and always uses strobe cream after the moisturizer and before the foundation. I asked her if I could use it over the foundation, she said I can but it's useless as it wouldn't show up as a highlighter or anything because it gives a very very light sheer, nothing dramatic. However, she said I can use it just like that without makeup which I have several times and it gives a nice soft sheen, nothing o-m-g though. I use it primarily because it's very moisturizing and I love it for that. Whenever I have tried using it on top of foundation, it has just disappered without any effect so thats of no use.
I mentioned SC here on GS a long time ago and a few girls have used it after that, some found it quite good. If you're looking for a luminous look, try Revlon's face illuminator- it doesn't cost alot and comes in pinkish and bronze tones. You can mix it with your foundation and it gives a beautiful dewy look.

I use victoria’s secret illuminator and I loved it at first and was able to make it work for me.. but nowadays it looks like pepto-bismol and sweat smeared across my cheeks… I wonder why

hey CB .. if u ve mac's vanilla pigment u can use to achieve the dewy look strobe cream dose.. n vanilla pigment is a gr8 highlighter to for ur blsuh n eyeshades to.. so i think buyin the pigment wud b a btr option snce it can b used for a lot of things... i did the same :D

I have the vanilla pigment..is it a good idea to add a bit of it your foundation? i didnt really like the strobe cream..it was nothing special..meh

hey pyaari si bachi.... i kwn strobe cream is jus so bleh..... i tried it to its nothin special.. i lvoe the effect foundation+vanila pigmnet gives.. thats hw i use it to gt a dewy glowy look.... add a bit of vanilla pigment to my foundation.... its sweeeet.

I like Benefit's "High Beam" a lot .. I prefer it over Mac Strobe Cream.

Anyone used NARS Albatross highlighter ?? apparently the MUA was going wowww about it and I did kind a like it , but still confused ...
So strobe is out ... now to decide between the Benefit High beam and Albatross ...?
PS : when i tested Strobe on me skin , I felt it mellowed down my skin tone and i didnt like it ... whereas I want something that will complement the wheatish skin tone and give it a shimmer ... so that my neckline , hands, ears look like mine ! When i told the MUA this she said "well you cn use some strobe on the neckline as well " !!! So that was a big no !

i tried the nars albatros my sister uses it.. but i go for vanilla pigment most days but if im wearin wumthin dats copper or gold based i add a bit of the nars highlighter by boring it from my sister:P cuz i dont own one yet.... it works for me on top of a subtle blush on the ckeeks gives a very sorta gold-ish but nt reli gold ish look on ur cheeks.. seems cute
i think wud b a good investment but cnt split it between to ppl cuz it doesn come ina loose jar like the vnailla pigment otheriwse u n ru firnd cud ve bought it togtr...... i want it toooo... i think we shud ve two shades of highlighters one peraly shimmmery and one a bit warm goldish....

vanilla does.. albatros isnt that shimmery...its a very subtle goldish hue....u knw like wen u gt a tan n ve a subtle shine on ur cheeks??? gt me??:p

i have both the strobe cream and albatross....i like both. i find that strobe cream is good for the winter months when my skin is really dry and i like applying it over my moisturizer to get a nice healthy glow but i dont reach for this much in the summer months because i dont like too much liquid on my face...i dont know how to explain that...sorry.
albatross...god i love this too...it gives a very natural and healthy candlelit glow...not at all glittery (like mac mineralize blushes or other shimmery stuff) its beautiful when i wear it alone or over pink toned blushes. its not shimmer though...i see it more as a brightener.
however, for summer i love using bobbi brown's shimmerbrick in beige or bronze over a bronzer...that really gives a glow...

if u have a wheatish skin then u play up the glow by using bronzer on the top of your cheekbones and a bronzey/golden shimmer on the apples of your cheeks. that brings the golden tones of the skin out....dont go for pink/vanilla toned highlighters (they work better on fairer skin)
some stuff to try...christian dior bronzer in sunset fiesta, mac mineralize in warm soul, bobbi brown bronze shimmerbrick and for a drugstore bronzer neutrogena makes a good mosaic-type bronzer. I'd say the golden sister of nars albatross is dior's shimmer star in amber....its a very subtle beigy shimmer...

The 2 products you have named serve 2 different purposes and give 2 differnt effects.
The strobe cream and liquid are to be used under your makeup but over your moisturiser, to act as a very light sheen and dewiness... in a natural way.
The nars albatross is a powder to be worn over your makeup to highlight the structure of your face to make all the facial angles pop!
Personally, i don't rate strobe cream/liquid highly... the albatross powder is sitting in my dressing room untouched also... I prefer to mix Benefit's Moon Beam into my foundation for a glowy look, and for luminescence i blend High Beam onto the top of my cheek bones to give a dewy yet sculpted look.

There are loads of products that do the same job. I use Luminous Liquid All Over Face Glow by American Beauty(available at Kohls). It gives a very nice glow to skin!

Chicken Biryani if its shimmer u want I would suggest u add Mac's vanilla pigment either to ur foundation, face cream or strobe cream......
