icecream maker!! I bought it because it looked cute!!!Used it once, it was too much of a work so when we moved I donated it to the survival center! they can enjoy freshly made icecream!!
Re: Machines bought but of no use ...
icecream maker..too much trouble when you can buy icecream in any flavour.
Re: Machines bought but of no use …
TLK , have you guys used one? I have been seeing loads of adverts about steamer mops and was thinking of getting one coz they say it cleans the floors really well ![]()
If steam isnt that strong a cleaner then maybe its not worth spending all that money …

I got two of those from different sources as wedding gifts .. they are aweful ... One was manual ..of which i have already lost the top bit and I am using the bottom pot as my dish washing liquid holder !
and the automated one , but again too much hassle to clean it .. so never used it , its just lying in the cabinet that i hardly open in five years !
Re: Machines bought but of no use ...
oh YES, one more item i just remembered. about 10 years ago, i bought a **'hand-held sewing machine'**** and gifted to my other Bhabhi in India. i saw it sitting in a corner of the house last year...i asked her if she ever used it? she said, "battery power runs out so fast...can't keep enuf batteries on hand" lol...so, *no matter how good these gadgets look on infomercials, they are practically useless!* :D**
Re: Machines bought but of no use …
My wife was telling me that steamer mop works, but the general puprose steamer where they show the person cleaning tubs, bbq grills, fences and what not is not true.
Re: Machines bought but of no use …
We use Shark steam floor cleaner it works great for our vinyl and hardwood floor.
Re: Machines bought but of no use ...
Our coffee maker.
Re: Machines bought but of no use ...
A coffee maker and a rice cooker. They were presents from the same person, and are taking up unnecessary space in my cupboards.
I also have a juicer that I would keep out if I had work top space.
Re: Machines bought but of no use ...
We have a steam mop and its great for cleaning our original oak floorboardsm especially in the kitchen where there's a lot of grease. We use it about once a month.
We also have a steam cleaner which I find useful for lifting grease off tiles, blinds, the extractor hood and also the grooves our conservatory doors. We only use it once every season change though.
Re: Machines bought but of no use ...
I bought the George foreman grill and never used it...used to dry up my steaks too much...i use my rice cooker loads...while i cook daal..it cooks my rice ;) i also steam vegetables in it..its great! Juicer is a big culprit..not many ppl use it!!

**YES, washing Juicer after the each use is a pain in the neck indeed! i always refrained from even thinking about using it. i now get freshly squeezed orange juice from the store. it's squeezed right in front of you so very fresh and very yummy!!! :)
why bother? :D**
Re: Machines bought but of no use ...
1.Popcorn maker...kids wanted one,but shauque soon died down when the corn was too dry
2.GT Express grill...food takes for ever and comes out rubbery
3.Electric grill...too much hassle
4.Juicer...ditto above
5.Coffee maker..only bought it for Mr CO,but he's gone off coffee now
6.Electric knife...Mr CO can't carve at the table 'cos the lead is too short,so we just use a knife
7Steam cleaner...left 'hole' marks (from the steam bit) on my laminate flooring and it's a pain ot get replacement pads
There must be more nightmares lurking in my cupboards somewhere....
