Re: MAchine to make smooth chutneys !
Do u add water?
MAchine to make smooth chutneys !
I always add some water as it helps break down any fresh mint corriander chillis etc, or if im making mint chutney with youghurt i add a spoon or two of the yoghurt to help it blend
Re: MAchine to make smooth chutneys !
I make the chutney by using the mortar and pestle after literally mincing the mint, chilli and coriander. Or in the bullet blender with a bit of yogurt and water.

Re: MAchine to make smooth chutneys !
My blender does not have enough power as well, so sometimes I remove the bottom (base with the blade) and screw it onto a mason jar. From there, you can blend your spices or chutney. The small size of the mason jar makes it easy to blend things finely. You can read more about it here.

Re: MAchine to make smooth chutneys !
Yogurt is never added to chutney AFAIK. It becomes raita.
I use a Hamilton Beach blender currently, it does a great job of making chutneys even though it's one of the cheaper blenders out there.

Re: MAchine to make smooth chutneys !
I use the same blender which i use for making milkshakes or smoothies. I just add little water to make dhania podina chutney. If the chutney gets too watery, I strain the excess water.
Re: MAchine to make smooth chutneys !
I also use the magic bullet and occasionally a chopper or regular cheap blender. You need to add a little water or juicy tomatoe :)
