Hi
I want to buy concealer, foundation, and powder by MAC and need some help.
I dont have bad skin, i dont have pimples and so on my skin is really good but i want to invest a good foundation. I have dark circles under my eyes so for those dark circles i want a good concealer by MAC. And I want a powder that gives my skin a matte effect and soooooo much glow.My skin is normal/dry.
So
Wich foundation, concealer and powder will u recommend me from MAC?
concealor - studio finish.. mac’s best concealer, great for everything. applied with a foundation brush lightly on its own or mixed with a bit of moisturiser it also makes a good foundation.
powder - you can’t have matte effect AND glow. for really smooth looking skin with a glow mineralize skinfinish natural, people with good skin can use in place of a foundation or on top otherwise, gives a really smooth looking finish to your skin, spend time buffing it on with a good brush, however it does make some people break out.
for a matte look select sheer pressed to set your make-up. use another product on top if you want glow.
doesn’t seem like you really need a foundation. i would just use the concealer+moisturiser in place of a foundation and with powder on top to smooth it all out and you’re set. if you really want a foundation try some brands other than MAC too.
I use Mac's Studio fix powder and liquid foundation. I must say works amazingly nice cuz my skin is oily so it gives me a matt look and yes they will try to give u a darker shade so dont listen to them about that go with what u think looks nice. Personally i always go a shade or two lighter and works well. If i go with a darker shade my face ends up looking darker than my neck. so it's better to go with a lighter shade.
but saying that they always give u a shade darker soo take some one with you,
Yes ask them. Their the pro's. But tell them you don't want too dark and to give you a sample of what it looks like. MAC is expensive so make sure you really like what you are invesing your money in.

asking for a sample is a good idea. but they are not pro's, they are just salespeople. even if you tell them you don't want it too dark, for some reason they are matching to something that is not your face. taking someone with you is a good idea and whatever you think is right, you might want to go one shade down as a lot of their foundations oxidise once you put them on. what i usually do (coz i don't have anyone with me) is put a few different streaks of what i think are best along my jawline and ask a MUA which one blends in to my skin the most... just don't let them go all crazy on your face with the first foundation they pick up because it will most likely be the wrong shade!
If u really want to cover-up dark eye-circles, I suggest Clinique's "all about eyes" or Makeup-Forever's concealer... they contain more pigment and will give u the full-coverage u need. Apply it with a small tapered brush for the perfect flawless/seamless finish and "set" it with either MAC pressed powder or loose powder.
I say go and ask the makeup artist at the counter. Tell them what you are looiking for and thy should recommend products for your specs. If you dont like a color or a certain foundation's finish, dont be afraid to tell them that. I have been using MAC for a while now so i know what color looks like what on me. If possible, go to the MAC counter first, get the foundation you like, on you and then go do the rest of the shopping. This will give you time to see if the color darkens on you after a while (on me it does) or if the shine is coming through etc.
I personally use Studio fix in powder form. I love the convenience and coverage of it. Also i keep in my purse, pressed blot powder in dark medium all the time. Love the product.
The only thing that gives me a glow is Face illuminator by VS (Very Sexy line). The color is candlelit and i think i got it on sale for 3-4 bucks and i swear every single time i wear it, i get complements. I just wear it underneath my studio fix powder foundation.
Oh and if you buy their products and for some reason arent comfortable with teh color or the product, you can always go back and exchange or return if you have the reciept.
^ yeah they do. Ive returned foundation cus they gave me something that 2 shades 4 shades darker than what i was actually wearing..
another thing.... the girls at the MAC counter in singapore told me to always go for something lighter cus after applying, the foundation goes 2 shades darker... the best advice ever!
I've recently dropped 2 shades in Mac (studiofix) as has my friend as we both found that though it looked fine when applied initially, after an hour or so it just didn't look right, in my case it looked too orange and dark.
I've also recently tried Bobbi Brown, so that may be worth a visit.
