The MAC strobe cream gives a less 'dewy' effect than the Highbeam/Moonbeam.

I use it.....not on a daily basis though....but for special occasions when I went a slightly glowy/dewy look. I put strobe cream on first....and then my MAC studio foundation. Sometimes I put a very light amount all over my face.....and other times I apply it on the cheekbones and areas I want to highlight. It gives your face a bit of shine (IMO). But if you use too much of it....it can make you appear oily. A little goes a long way.
It's pricey as all things MAC are, lol. I would suggest that you ask the MAC makeup artist to give you a free sample to try out. That'll give you an idea of whether or not it suits you and your needs. And I'd also ask the artist how it should be applied....maybe have the artist apply it on for you with makeup.
