They palettes come empty and you can mix & match your own colors. Have any of you guys filled an entire 15-pot palette?
The shadows are sold in depotted pans like these:
They sell for $11 as opposed to the regular $14.50 if you bought them in pots like this:
So if you do the math, you can fill an entire 15-slot palette for $177.50 rather than $217.50 ()
Since I am starting to build my collection, I thought I’d try to fill up a whole palette in the upcoming months. Has anyone done it or planning on it also?
Yes. But then bought lots of 4-pan palettes instead as I prefer them, especially for travel. In the beginning I had to depot my singles, then I bought pan shadows. Except the LE one's which I don't feel like depotting.
I have 4 15-pan palette filled...lol. I have them sorted by colors. I also bought 2 4-pan pots...so when I travel, I take the colors I need for the trip. Depotting is super easy. BUT....I also press pigments....so a lot of my "pans" are actually pressed pigments.
Peheli, Cute Chandni & Stoppit, you guys need to post pictures of your collection in the makeup collection thread! And Sara, it is SUER easy to depot. I use the parchment paper & hair straightener method (place parchment paper on the iron, lay your shadow pot on it and let it sit until the glue softens, and then using a pin, just pop it out and rub off the glue with alcohol, ta-da!)
And Paheli, I pressed the MAC Vanilla & Pearl pigments together to form my own color to use as a highlighter and it worked out AWESOME! It's in the blush picture in the makeup collection thread.
And Stoppit, I agree about not depotting the LEs, often the whole point is the packaging! I cant wait for the Gareth Pugh collection!
I don't have any mac eyeshadows yet as I don't really wear much eyeshadow, but I'll be training to be a makeup artist in september so will need to build a few palettes. I'm waiting to get get my makeup artistry certificate, so I can apply for my MAC PRO card for 40% discount on mac purchases! :)

I have pics on my laptop at home....I'll post them tonight. :) The combo of Vanilla and Pearl sounds gorgeous! I haven't bought any e/s or pigments is over a year. My "collection" got so big and I covered almost all the colors I need....so I forced myself to stop before it got out of hand!
I don't have any blush palettes though.. do you guys think blush palettes are good? I have alot of MAC blushes, but I've never depotted them
I think its all about personal preferance. I don't have too many blushes (4-5) so its easy for me to keep them "organized". However, given the amount of shadow/pigments...I can't even imagine trying to organize them without palettes. So if you have a lot of blushes...the palettes may make it easier for you to keep track/organize. :)
