MAC Cosmetics UK | Face | Powder | Mineralize Skinfinish Natural
Who uses it?
What is the difference between using this or any other translucent powder?
Is it a must-have for my make-up collection?

Re: MAC Mineralize Skin Finish
I use MSF natural in Dark as a non-shimmer bronzer (plus it gives a wonderful, smooth, airbrushed look to cheeks if applied with the 187) and for contorting. Even though it's not shimmery, it still gives a glowy sheen, so not the same as a matte powder.
I had it in medium to try out as a translucent powder but I wouldn't recommend it personally. I don't think it's right for setting makeup, especially for oily skin like mine.
However, if you have skin that's more on the dry side and doesn't need much coverage, I think it would work really well on its own.
Re: MAC Mineralize Skin Finish
I go thro phases of liking certain makeup products :s I used to love using the MSF then I got tired of using it as I noticed It would leave me with a powdery finish (best to spray fix plus over it to avoid this)
Then I started using Macs Prep+Prime Transparent Finish Powder works just as well (if not better) now I'm back to using my MSF (weird I know) :D

Interesting ![]()
Stoppit: When using the 187, do you stipple it on or do you use circular blending motions? There’s this whole debate on the net about what brush to use when using this product…![]()
CE: Fix+? You’re the first person i know of who uses that… I just use rose water to freshen my make-up ![]()
I’ve read great reviews about it MSF on the net… and i’ve read that some people use it as a replacement for foundation…i have clear skin so i think i’d probably use it like this…
I guess i’ll have to buy and try it out for myself ![]()
Re: MAC Mineralize Skin Finish
I stipple it in the product but I buff it on my cheeks. But I'm going for colour not coverage.
If you're using it all over, I'd probably go with a large dome brush.
Re: MAC Mineralize Skin Finish
Yeah you're right. I have the 134 and 150 so i'm guessing one of those should suffice.
Thanks! :D

I am fair skinned so i just got the medium MSF are you saying its better to stick with the dark because the medium doesn't do anything?
Re: MAC Mineralize Skin Finish
No.. I use Dark for the colour, in place of a bronzer and as a contoring powder.
I bought medium (which is my skin tone colour) as an all over powder to set my makeup or to wear alone when not wearing any foundation.. I did not like it for this purpose but it works for some people.

Doesn't rose water leave a weird after-smell? I have rose water that I keep in the fridge and I sprayed it on my face and it left such a strong after-smell that I had to wash my face.
And I read a lot about the 187 brush, I don't use foundation but a brush that applies it so well is awesome! I don't use foundation because I, at this point, don't need it but also because I'm so scared of the cakey/atta look it can give if used wrongly so a brush that gives an airbrushed look is great!
What MAC brush would you guys recommend for eyeshadow? Something versatile and can be used for applying, blending and the crease?
