A friend of mine just got engaged in Karachi and her engagement make up was by allenora and it was stunning!
Anyway so she is having a really big engagement party here in England, and she was wondering if MAC are any good?
Her clothes and jewelry were given to her by her In laws and it was all really nice and she wants to do it justice also its the first shaadi in her family!
I know people from America have said they loved MAC on their wedding day, just wondering if any UK ladies have had any experiences?
Hey I live in Bristol in the UK, I wear MAC make up on a daily basis but would not advise you use them for engagement make up..
As some of my friends have and it looked horrible..It ws jus really dark eye make up and bright red lipstick it looked retro and didnt fit with the asian bridal look..also they didnt pin the dupatta well or do anything with the hair.
Its best you go to someone who does hair, make up and dupatta setting all together.
Having said all that the mac artists r very well trained and are experienced with asian skin so maybe they are different in other cities where there are more asians so they have had more practice..best you ask them for a trial..
I went to a wedding last weeek where the bride had her make up done from Mac. She looked good. But don’t really know how she found the whole experience, and can’t ask her cos she’s moved away to Paris
she definitely needs to go for a trial and just bring the shirt of the outfit or dupatta so the mua gets an idea of what to do. because some mac artists get too excited and make u look like a clown
Hey everyone my friend went for a trial and it went HALF ok....
Basically she booked in with one in birmingham and took her dupatta it is bottle green and peach combo with gold and silver kaam on it.
Anyways so she sat there and the she explained to the artist what she wanted, which was to look fresh and natural and to concentrate more on the peach and gold colours with hint of green in the eyes.
So the makeup artist started and when she had finished the base she asked my friend to look in the mirror and my friend started crying (oopsy!) because she was really dissapointed with the darkness of it, anyway so this makeup artist got all panicked and called over another one who obviously didnt have an appointment booked ( she was black) and explained what she wanted and it actually went really well, she is considering this person as a potential now.
**Does she have pics of her makeup done by Allenora? If she loved that, she can tell the makeup artist to copy the look. Maybe, the potential person can replicate it.
My sister used MAC for her bridal and she looked stunning! She used a lady called Sharanjit who is based in the London area. Her number is 07958 042536 and 07508511318. Call her and book a trial xx
