The way I see it, they are showing the consequences of being a submissive doormat. I don't think they are promoting such naivete .... even Aiman's mother is fed up with her submissive nature when it comes to Saman.

sorry Mehnaz but we have 20 other dramas that show the same submissive doormat wives, sisters, mothers. Again I did not expect this from Umera Ahmed.

and there is just so much emphasis on the rishta crap. i feel like she tries to highlight the stupidity of it…but it seems like she gives the issue importance at the same time. like women are dependent on these rishtas or their life will not go on and they must b depressed. at least that is how it comes across. show that it can be different. arghhhhhhh.

but they are ... she is showing real life of many middle-class pakistani families. We are looking at this from a western point of view, but when you are living in that mohol and in that environment 24/7, and you grew up without a male father figure in a male dominated society, this is what happens.
I keep bringing up that other drama Khushboo ka Ghar about the widow raising 4 minor children. She can't even earn a living without being harassed and/or bullied (by both men and women), people wanting to use and abuse her cause they know she's a widow and is an easy target. This is cause it's still a male dominated society.
I don't like this drama, but I don't dislike it either. There is an important message - take control of your life and stop leaving it in other peoples hands.

if the msg here is to stop being a victim and take control of our lives then the approach is all wrong...because the 'victim' here is NOT learning from her mistakes, she is not rising above the situation and taking charge. an example of this subject done marvelously was umera ahmed's 'daam', an original screenplay (not adapted from an afsana) which had essentially all these typical themes related to a typical lower middle class home but education was depicted as a powerful tool to get out of the miserable cycle and its the same girl who is victimized in the story who eventually provides the strength for her entire family to get out of the rut all on her own. now that makes sense instead of glorifying weakness as a sign of being holier than thou, why else would everyone in the drama be forever singing praises of Aiman, she is being depicted as the ultimate good but at what cost?

I don’t know what the message of this drama is DramayBazz, but that’s the message I am getting from watching these episodes so far. There are several themes, this is not the only message.
Someone mentioned this was just a short story and not a fully developed novel like her other stories. Who knows why the director/screen writer is portraying the story this way.
You should comment on this on the official facebook page where the directors/actors also post … and if they don’t post, they at least read it.

what eventually happens? the character of Saman is potent....she is narcistic, self-centered and very selfish...... I hope that something bad happens to her and to AZar. Both deserves each other......feel sorry for their spouses and kids....

Im getting sick of watching it. Saman is still evil with no consequences and Aiman is still a doormat! There is no character development. The build up has been enough now, it needs to climax and end!
