M&Ms

Salam alaikum.
Can anyone tell me if M&Ms are available to buy in Pakistan. And if so where are they imported from. UK or USA?
I am asking because the ones manufactured in UK are haram and USA are halal. So I would appreciate if someone can tell me.

thats a good question , I wanted to ask that too … unless this company has a manufacturing plant in the Middle east or Asian region …

You'll find both the types. I've heard Agha's, Haji's, Ebco or Imtiaz in Karachi get theirs from the UAE.

They aint halal I think actually I was surprised to find that some chocolates arent halal here

If the back of the packet has E120 listed as an ingredient, its supposed to be haram. Specifically speaking, Its actually the red colored m&m's that needs to be avoided as E120 is a red coloring agent derived from a beetle's (insect) shell to dye foods. Please be aware though, some brands tend to list it as carmine (dye) or cochinea so if either of it is listed. Its haram, but only the red ones.

I was out a while back, bought a pack just to be sure, I wouldn't as yet judge since the shop it was purchased from isn't what you would call a big store. But I do see E120 listed on the back of the packet. I'll try and pick up a packet from Ebco or Aghas tomorrow and update this thread later with more findings.

Whats wrong with Skittles. Gelatin? I've heard stores now carry Gelatin free Skittles abroad. The mini tube ones.

here in the USA I remember growing up we couldn't eat Skittles due to gelatin, but now they are gelatin free...........but I still have to read the back anytime I buy it

M & M are very much available in Pakistan . You can find them in almost all super markets and big shops both yellow one and brown ones.

I believe I am not sure that M & M are imported from UAE to Pakistan so it's ought to be halaal.

hello i am from India
well even i have not eaten m&m
but i got to know that the colour used shouldn’t
be taken and avoided as the cochineal(the red colouring
agent and even it shades at times orange also i guess----)
is out of insects
