Ok sorry for going so off topic, but I think its a great idea. I mean imagine if some of us were able to somehow educate the rest. It would lessen the frustration of the ignorance when it comes to Islam.
I know a lot of people are doing their thing, trying to educate others -a lot of which seem to rather point out just the rights or just the wrongs.
Complete answers and facts are on the rare side. Or so it seems.

Verizon, Jihad never equals terrorism...this is exactly what we have to denounce and educate peopel about. Also, you are welcome to voice your opinion.

Oh Yeah Kaleem, What we in the west call terorism is what Uncle Osama and his nephews call Jihad, so why does it not equal terrorism. I did not see one page ads from the ummah in NYtimes and WSJ denouncing terrorism nor did I see the Ummah taking out tv ads denouncing their loved one in the the cave.
Israel on the other hands took out ads and offered condolences on innocence lost.
BTW beheading and cutting arms and beating your wives etc etc are all sort of terrorist acts prescribed in Islam. Chapter 9 talk about it.
Even now everyone who wants to better the image of Islam still cant come to grips that if Irsahd manji or Salaman Rushdie or Verizon wants to have a debate or engage in a discussion can do so. What ends up happening is lets discredit them first call them Kafirs or heathens or whatever is the adjective of the day and then we’ll have the discussion.

Ummah doesn’t associate it self with osama and terrorism so why they have to denounce osama by putting an ad in NY Times or on TV? It could have a reverse affect actually. Americans might think that since Muslims are somehow related to terrorism and they are feeling guilty about it so therefore Muslims are disparaging osama. It will be like "I didn't do it" kinda thing.

Moderation is a virtue, Saudis, Taliban and their lovers suck in it.
I mean I saw moderation at play here, GS couldn't hack gays in heaven nor could they hack 72 virgins. Both were healthy debates but someone had a kersosine lamp lit under her/his ass and had it removed. Mods no need to put the stripped down version back. It's over.
BTW Kaleem instead of try to better the image of Islam why not in actuality better islam, by lifing driving ban and allowing women to vote in SA. How would we explain the moderated version about woman beating? I am sure you have worked all these nuances out.
