Lying by omission

If you don’t tell someone something (let’s call the something ‘X’ because i am so original), is it still considered lying?

i mean if the person asks about X, then you would answer honestly. But since the person doesn’t ask, so you don’t answer anything about X, is it still lying?

i already know the answer…at least according to what i think is right. Just wondering how others would feel about this.

nadz, hmmm, technically its not, but i think in many situations it is…

i do this sometimes btw :bummer: but i dont think its right

Irem… heh :flower1:

In “many” situations, it is? :bummer: yeah i know. :frowning:

i agree, it’s not “right”. sigh :frowning: Life sucks :crying:

Depends what 'X' is, and whether or not 'X' involves the person in any way.

:k: Bilkul theek kaha aap nai. Very rational answer. Certain things are not anyone else’s business.

If it relates to them in a significant manner, then they should know about it. If they are interested in knowing about X simply for the purposes of enhancing their gossip collection, then they should keep their noses out of someone else’s beeswax.
