I want to give my husband sandwiches from home for lunch. He usually buys them from near work and I don’t really like it that he buys when I can make something as well.
So I want the simplest of recipes for sandwiches that are very tasty but very easy to make. Only cooking, frying or steaming procedures involved. No grilling, baking stuff.
So far I know the basic ones:
1- Boiled egg + butter + Mayo
2- Shami Kabab + omelette
1.Boil Chicken and shred it, Add mayonnaise or thousand Island dressing with salt, white pepper and blackpepper. Tastes yummy.
2. The chicken slices, (available from halal shops the processed meats). They are ready to eat ones, You can preserve them in freezer and when you want just heat in microwave. In bread but mayonnaise on one side and ketchup at other. You can add salad if you like.
3. I also make tuna cheese and olive sanswich (we had today as we were out for picnic). Crush Tuna, add salt and black pepper plus thousand Island dressing/Mayonnaise and put it on slice. Then toss oilves on it and then layer it with mozzarella cheese and put it in sandwich maker. If you dont want to use sandwich maker omit cheese.
4. I also make cheese sandwiches the most simplest one. Just put mozzarella cheese in toasts and put in sandwich maker.
5. In boiled egg sandwich you can add grated cucumber it enhances the taste.
6. You can also make potato cutlets and they can be pressed in sandwich.
I bought alot of halal deli meats. He likes roast beef and turkey. So I made sandwiches from those. Toasting the bread, using mayo and mustard and salad.
Chicken salad sandwich - boiled shredded chicken, mixed with mayo, salt, pepper, and sometimes I add in some curry powder to add an extra kick to it
Tuna Salad - drain the water from canned tuna, mix it with salt, pepper, and mayo. You can also add some hot sauce, and chopped celery and lettuce - or make it like they do at Subway - by adding lots of veggies.
Chicken Keema burgers, or you can buy chicken burgers from the halal store (my husband loves those!).
Also, pasta is a good option as well. Lasagna, or any other type of keema pasta.
I hope that helps! My husband used to waste so much money on lunch everyday, and when I started making him lunch, I swear, he was saving more than $200 a month! At his current work place, they get a monthly allowance and use it to get food from the cafeteria, so I havent made him lunch since he started working here.
