Lunch Ideas for Working People

Re: Lunch Ideas for Working People

Turkey is halal or so I have heard

Re: Lunch Ideas for Working People

^ I think you're confusing two issues.. yes turkey isn't haram like prok but it does have to be slaughtered properly to be considered halal.

side note: I've been doing the frozen WW meals for lunch. Its far from filling but does hold me over until home.

Re: Lunch Ideas for Working People

cheese slices...with salad is the best lunch..and holds soo long

Re: Lunch Ideas for Working People

Turkey is like chicken and beef, it’s only “halal” when it’s been slaughtered properly. Turkey is not like fish, whcih can be halal no matter where u get it from.

Re: Lunch Ideas for Working People

thank god i dont like turkey.. or i would have definitely had some esp after so many ppl told me it was halal.. grr. thank god for kosher.

Re: Lunch Ideas for Working People

how about making a simple pilao, but with more meat/veggies than normal , so you cut back on the rice amount...and maybe make it with brown rice instead?

Re: Lunch Ideas for Working People

Salads always work best. In any form, chicken, pasta, beans, greek..anything, and you don't have to warm them before eating. make sure you use a 2 tablespoons of dressing on it (which you can bring in a separate tiny container, the ones you get with those chinese takeaways). You can also add some low-fat halloumi or feta cheese to that. The fat in the dressign will help keep you full longer, which is a healthier option than going for mid-afternoons snacks...Avoid mid-aft snacks at any cost. Instead, load up on green tea.
