Lunatics and Martyrs

What similarities do they have? (I know they are different, but I am doing a debate, and I need some arguments for similarities). Thank You!

err :~| Sorry, by “lunatic” i assume that you mean someone who is, technically speaking, considered someone with psychotic tendencies?

If yes, then - both groups of individuals (lunatics as well as martyrs) are subservient to their ideologies and beliefs. The “lunatic” is a slave to his thoughts and modes of thinking (whatever they may be) just as a martyr is, in a way, subservient to his ideologies as well…the action that the martyr wishes to carry out (for whatever ultimate purpose) is for him the ultimate goal and no other belief/ideology/thought will sway him from his purpose. Just as a “lunatic” cannot be talked out of it, so neither can a martyr.

My head’s spinning now - i dunno if that made ANY sense whatsoever. hehe, sorry :flower1:

lunatics = loonies
martyrs = passionate loonies

LUNATICS DON'T REALLY HAVE A REASON FOR WHAT THEY DO. MARTYRS DO. MARTYRS USUALLY DIE IN WHAT THEY DO AND LUNATICS USUALLY END UP GOING TO THE MENTAL HOSPITAL.

actually, they do have a purpose..BOTH have a purpose. Sometimes martyrs are considered lunatics, u cant really make that distinction. They're so similar, but so different..dammit. Who doesn't have a reason for what they do? dammit

the question makes no sense at all....

u r comparing two totally different things....

There is a fine line between madness and genius…

Tum pagal, pagal kehtay ho,

Tum bhi pagal ho jao,

Take that :2guns: Freud…

Thank You,

Armughal - they might be the same, but that does not change the fact I recieved a stupid topic for debate.
