Luggage allowance

If anyone has anyone recently travelled by PIA, could you please tell me what the luggage allowance is? Is it still 32 kg , or have they also reduced it to 28?

it is 35 i think but bear in mind that you can't take any perfumes or any thing like that in your hand luggage if you do than they will take it out and throw it away

as pk786 said its 35kg. However, a single luggage case can not weight more than 32KG if you are travelling from UK (u can have 2 cases of 17+18 kg, for example).
dunno about other places.

I travelled with PIA recently from heathrow to islamabad and i had a 40kg luggage allowance.

(And I still had to pay for the extra 30kg:rolleyes:)

lol i think it depends on the day and the person dealing with you coz my sister travelled last month and she was over aswel but the girl she was seeing was nice and she let her go :-)

When travelling with any airline, we have always found it best to pack the case around 5kg over the allowance stated on th ticket.....make sure you weigh it at home properly first and take off a bit for the weight of the bag. With about 5kg over we have never had a problem getting through check in.
Mt SIL on the other hand goes way too over the top and each of her bags is always over by about 10kg and then she has to do the embarrasing thing and empty some stuff!!

Oh and it depends where you fly from, but try getting there so that you are near the front of the queue.....................that way not too many desi's have wound the check in person up with excess baggage!!!!

If you purchased your ticket before 16th Oct 2006 you are allowed to carry 2 suitcases of 70lbs (32kg) each but if you bought the tickes on or after 16th Oct 2006 you are allowed to carry 2 suitcases of 61.6lbs (28kg) each.

We traveled b/w jfk-Khi-Jfk last week and half of our family bought tickets before 16th Oct they were allowed to carry 70lbs.

so what happens if you go over by like 10 lbs.....you can just pay for the extra right?

Also do kids under 2 years of age get a 50 lbs allowance for their luggage?

^ As far as I know children don't get the same luggage allowance as adults, although all the baby related stuff like a stroller, carrycot etc is free and doesn't get included in the luggage allowance.

That sucks. At Karachi airport, they went through our luggage and stole a bunch of stuff. How am I supposed to take anything in a suitcase? :rolleyes:

^^ i heard about these special locks that they allow you to put on your luggage, they are called TSA locks. You can find them at walmart.
