How loyal are you to your employer? Do you do work with the objective to enhance your career , or with the objective that the company will grow?
Re: Loyalty to your employer ..
Both are equally important goals . They are collectively exhaustive too. If you enhance your career it is good for the company , company will benefit more with your growth and vice versa.
Koi main jhoot bolya ?
Re: Loyalty to your employer ..
One would remain loyal to the company if one's equally benefitted as per one's hard work & loyalty.
Re: Loyalty to your employer ..
I am loyal to the folk who employed me, not the company as a whole... I did not give my allegiance to some fat cat behind a desk I gave it to a man who had the guts to take me on at an interview.
So long as the people who took me on remain in the firm so to speak my loyalty is to them and thier succesors, if they be equal or greater in competance, but as soon as my loyal leaders are gone then the company cannot expect me to remain with them... for I go where my heart is happy.
In the modern world I hat big companies and firms who have lost all emotion to constant pressure to succeed... they forget that thier high and mighty offices were built by the blood sweat and tears of the common man.
And it is with the common man that my loyalty is greatest... if the men at the top displease the common man then not even the mightiest firm can hope to hold power for long.
Re: Loyalty to your employer ..
I am loyal to company to extent that i work hard and save costs for company where ever possible. Its not in my nature to sit idle and take muft ki salary. But if i found a good job oppertunity at a good place, then i m gonna quit in heart beat
- coz over here i am not satisfied with what they pay me compared to what they expect from me ![]()
Re: Loyalty to your employer ..
Also I have realised that whenever company wont need your services anymore, they ll keep your loyalty and hardwork aside and fire you. So if company is never loyal to you, then why should you be? :-S
Re: Loyalty to your employer ..
^ I second that!
Re: Loyalty to your employer ..
yeah thats very true indeed Fairytale ... Employers are hardly ever loyal to the employees .. until you are needed to get a job done , you are a valuable member of the firm , when its time to go , they wont think twice ...

I found it to be so very common that your friendship and loyalty to 'supervisor' counts in many ways but not direct loyalty to the company. Its your relationship with your supervisor (and of course some of your efficiency at work) which comes into play when the company decides to cut number of employees.
Re: Loyalty to your employer ..
I work for money , if you need loyalty , go and buy a Dog ![]()
Re: Loyalty to your employer ..
Captain you are right perhaps .. I guess that is why the companies spend so much money on management training programmes .. coz eventually the managers are responsible to buy in the loyalty of the employees reporting into him.
I do wonder occasionally , how people manage to spend 20 years or 30 years working for the same company
… I have come across resumes where people literally had no more then 2 -3 jobs in a career span of 30 years …

Easy answer some people like to live in their comfort zones. They lack ambition , hate adventure , taking risk and looking for greener pastures. You will not find those guys at the higher steps of the corporate ladders.
Re: Loyalty to your employer ..
^ thats true indeed ...
Re: Loyalty to your employer ..
I'm loyal to the extent that I will give in my 110% while on the job, not engage in corporate espionage, or play a role in any operational or cultural sabotage oriented behavior. All these factors tie in to both enhancing my career as well as helping the company grow. Other than this, I won't let my loyalty be a stumbling block in moving to a different organization where I'm offered better employment opportunities.
Re: Loyalty to your employer ..
very well explained Lucid. I do feel that we are more loyal to the employment then the employer.
