^ no i dont think ALL ABCDs suffer from low-self esteem. I only agreed with part of what he said. some of these FOBs are brainwashed into thinking that white people are better than them. It is their children who grow up acting either white or black without any sense of identity. In the crucial formative teenage years, a realization that you dont or cannot have blond or afro hair results in an identity crisis oftentimes leading to lack of self-esteem and depression.
Blacks went throught the same situation in the 1960s and 70s. Many tried to assimilate, and failed miserably when they were not accepted into the white mainstream. Read Toni Morrison's "The Bluest Eye" to get an idea. You could write a treatise on this topic.
