Low/no carb roti

Hi guys

I’m following a low carb diet…before anyone starts criticising, I’m eating plenty of veg, and lean meat, so its not to healthy. The idea is I can start introducing good carbs in week 3, but I’m only in week 1 and am missing my roti, does anyone have any ideas on how i could make a low carb roti?

I was thinking I could do something with flaxseed meal, but has anyone already experimented or have better ideas?

Re: Low/no carb roti

^^ low carb roti is not do-able! I don't think u can make it at home. U can substitute it with low carb tortilla's though.

Re: Low/no carb roti

Yeah, theres NO such thing as a no-carb roti I bet.

Re: Low/no carb roti

There's gotta be a way...it just needs some imagination I'm sure.

How are low card tortilla's made?

Re: Low/no carb roti

^ I suggest you should buy them from your grocery store, I mean they're like $2 for a dozen!

Re: Low/no carb roti

I live in the UK, and have never seen them (at least not in my local supermarket)

Re: Low/no carb roti

yes - you can do a low carb roti.

It doesn't taste like real roti but if you need to dip something in your "daal" or "shorba" it might just do the trick

Get organic whole wheat from your grocery store. It's dark brown. Make it the same way you would do regular atta with water and knead it. You can also mix flax seed if you want.

Cook like regular roti - except that it will be very dark roti - a small roti is about 15 grams of carbs. But good carbs!

Enjoy!
