I am trying to lose weight, but havea bad habit of eating junk food, like chocolates etc.
Am trying from today to cut own on stuff, so have bought like raisins and nuts instead, and tangerines, any other low fat snacks etc you guys could recommend.
Also foodwise, any suggestions for stuff I could cook at weekend which I can heat up in a microwave at work. But is ideally again low fat healthy stuff, cause kind of getting sick of sandwiches
oh yay, I can tell you what Im doing these days! For breakfast I have bran flakes, and toast and tea if theres time. If Im hungry before lunch I snack on fruit like tangerines. Lunch, I fill myself up. Make this your main meal of the day because eating heavy at night time makes you put on weight. So I have rice, soup and fish or something similar. Today I had pasta, but then I had a donut afterwards :p For dinner, I just had another bowl of cereal, a banana and a small yoghurt and I feel full. Oh yeah, and remember to excercise!!
Cat-woman: Yeah I was thinking probably is better if I eat something major at lunch rather then in evening. Just only have microwave at work, anad apart from going to the pub nowhere really to eat out here sigh Need to start making stuff at home.
Exercise wise, restarted at gym again yesterday. Thinking of going three times a week for a hour, and any other day walking two miles home. Don't know if that will help though.
Any ideas how much realistically a person could loose in 4 months?
Low fat biscuits, cereals, chocolates, cakes etc are usually a big con, because they are full of sugar and additives to compensate for the low fat. And they still leave you hungry so you eat more.......so calorie wise there isn't often that much different between the normal and low fat version of a product.
ukwali, eating sweets if fine as long as you do so within some well-set limits…and chocolates are not allowed! Try a low carb diet that allows breads and/or pasta once a week. Try eating a light breakfast, normal lunch, and a light dinner on a daily basis. Do not snack in between. Also, whenever chance permits, take advantage of as much exercising as possible. Jogging/treadmill and situps as best. Your body will get tight in no time and when you lose weight, you not only begin to look awesome in your own eyes but your self-confidence shoots up 10-fold.
Thanks for all your suggestions. I have joined weightwatchers, and been with them since the start of the year, and manaaged to lose a fair bit. But after a 6 month stint abraod am really struggling to get back on track. My worst time of day seems to be evenigns don't know why :( I can eat proper all day and come evenign I end up eating junk.
I have though rejoined my gym and have hired a personal trainer to push me a bit. So will see if that helps.
Sweetpie: suggestion about not eating much carbos. Is a bit difficult cause for lunch I have to bring stuff from home and sandwiches are most convenient thing to make. Especially as time is limited.
