Namaan - I have noticed with the older generation that women do not address their husbands by their name but with insert oldest child/first sons name ka abba lol, I think its great!
Cold fire - I agree. I guess it's just too embarrassing lol.
I've noticed some people do go mad wit this. I know of a girl that married a family friend of ours a few years back... she calls him 'baby' and places her hand on his leg in front of his parents when they are visiting. The parents obviously find it rather uncomfortable!
